Free League Announces Coriolis: The Great Dark

I'm hoping to run FL soon as well. My players just need to become more open to new games, so I'll have to wow them with a one shot or something.

Free League Announces Coriolis: The Great Dark

I will likely back this. I was on the fence with the original Coriolis books but this looks like a good starting point with a refreshed set of rules. And I love Forbidden Lands as well, so if this is anything like that, then I'm all in.

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

Not gonna lie, I have bought almost every single Demon Lord book and supplement that's out there, but when I saw the early drafts of this I just asked myself "why would I want this?". Rob Schwalb is an amazing game designer but I think I have everything I'd want in SotDL, so I'm happy that I...

D&D General The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977 Coming In June

Hardly nothing. But you're free to draw your own conclusions from it.

D&D General The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977 Coming In June

That's correct. These are predictions backed up by warning signs from last year and early this year. There is no public statement (yet) stating that WotC are doing a full stop on physical products, but the clues/red flags are written on the wall. Ending the Penguin distribution contract. Hiring...

D&D General The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977 Coming In June

Incorrect. They are releasing the core rulebooks in physical, which will sell. Everything after those will see decreasing sales. It happened with 5e and every edition prior to that. Subscription (potentially multiple tiers) is why. Corporations don't want spikes of revenue only when new...

D&D General The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977 Coming In June

It was, but that's changing. Physical books sales always decline as you get longer and longer into a new edition. Hence, they're moving to a purely digital format. DNDBeyond and VTT based modules is the future for D&D. Charging subscription fees to dndbeyond/vtt users and/or charging for...

RPG Print News – The Arcane Library, Troll Lord Games, and More

The game is marketed as OSR themed with some modern mechanics. NSR is an accurate label for that. I vastly prefer it to 5e myself.

D&D General The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977 Coming In June

Again, no chance of that happening. Their attention to quality physical products remains extremely lackluster. Not to mention they have zero physical books coming out after Monster Manual 2025. Hasbro fired the entire WotC physical book team remember.

D&D General The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977 Coming In June

There is zero chance of WotC actually putting out a quality physical product at this point. This book will be a cheap glued binding chunk of thin paper just like all of their other books.

D&D 5E (2014) Vecna: Eve of Ruin Coming May 21st!

Both covers look horrible. You've got cyborg vecna in the first, and a pencil sketch of a hand in the second that looks like it was done via AI.

RPG Print News – Runehammer, Cubicle 7, Legendary Games, and More

Crown and Skull is such a stunning book.

    WotC Hasbro selling D&D IP?

Declining sales is not failing? BG3 was the only bright spot last year for D&D, which was mostly due to Larian Studios, who's major investor is Tencent. I wouldn't discount this rumor just yet.

D&D General Resolution Games and Wizards of the Coast Announce the First Official D&D Virtual Reality Game

Dark Sun will NEVER see a 5e release. Nor does it need an overhaul. WotC could use one though.

    PaizoCon at Local Game Stores

Not necessarily. I bought the core rulebook just a couple weeks ago after the remaster came out. Why you might ask? A. It's got all of the collected errata (being the 6th printing) and none of the new errors that are in the remaster books. B. It's got more classes and races and includes the OGL...

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

IMO we are just entering the golden age of TTRPG's now. With more and more people moving on from D&D 5e, and embracing other publishers and different games.
