Those icons are a nice addition IMO. WotC should use them more consistently, e.g. the recent Channel Divinity articles from Dragon 395 didn't have any.

The flavor of the elemental power source as described in the article indicates a strong connection to the Elemental Chaos and the primordials. IIRC the Feywild has a strong connection to the arcane (I think that's mentioned in MotP), as shown in the recent Class Acts: Knight article.

Most Thranes follow the church, at least that's my impression. The royals make a show of supporting the church in public, and this being Eberron you can bet that there's a disgruntled heir somewhere who'd love to become king. (Some of the higher-ups inside the church aren't exactly pious, either.)
