You can further reduce the pdf file size by changing the dpi to 144 in the printer settings. This will also speed up the printing process.

You're not downloading the spool file, actually. The Silverlight client on your computer converts the displayed information into a ridiculously sized bitmap file which is then printed. It doesn't use much bandwidth at all from what I can tell.

I guess Silverlight accesses the internet indirectly through your browser. Have you tried adding it manually to the list of allowed programs?

The problem isn't the file size of a character when it's stored on a server, it's when the printer converts the character information into what I assume to be a high-resolution image before printing the character sheet. I can't think of another explanation of how to get ~700 MB out of a ~150 kB...

While it didn't crash for me today, it's actually slower than yesterday. Try making a lvl 30 druid - it took me half an hour with lots of waiting for vecna. Also, don't click "Choose all for me" when selecting the feats. It's painful to see which feats it chooses. Maybe it's rolled randomly...
