We obviously have different viewpoints on what constitutes a strong enchantment. That said, the holy avenger's crits add radiant damage and allow you to spend a healing surge. (Enchantments that only add d6's to crits are quite common, btw; adamantine and vorpal weapons are the exceptions.)...

Looking at the magic weapons list in the CB, the holy avenger is the strongest weapon enchantment for level 30 by far. See also DracoSuave's previous reply.

Actually, there was this article by Mike Mearls: (bolded for emphasis) To me that does say "power creep". Judging from the now-rare holy avenger, this doesn't appear to be the case, though. It rather looks like the holy avenger is the upper limit to the power level of epic rare items, IMO.

On the one hand I think the holy avenger is fine, on the other hand it's no different from the one in the Player's Handbook except that it's now a rare item.
