    The essential "Essentials"

They didn't expect gamers to think of such hilarious abbreviations, let alone use them? I'd have preferred "Heroes of the Ancient Empires" instead of "Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms", btw. On topic, I agree with Odhanan's advice.

TSR, WotC and Electronic Support: a loveless marriage

The problems I see with predictions about the future usually boil down to the assumptions involved, which you've touched upon. Personally, I perceive these assumptions to be pretty optimistic, especially regarding the current economic troubles and comparatively high rates of unemployment in many...

TSR, WotC and Electronic Support: a loveless marriage

So, where did you get your crystal ball? And what does it say about the 4e campaign setting(s) for 2012? ^^

    Birthright Collector's Guide

I have one fanmade pdf on my hard drive that's not available at Birthright.net: Player's Secrets of Ghoere. Here's the TOC and credits: I can't remember where I got it, but it still shows up in Google searches.

TSR, WotC and Electronic Support: a loveless marriage

Andramelech: You seem to have missed what DDI includes. Apart from the Character Builder and the as-yet-unfinished Adventure Tools, the DDI subscription includes full access to the Compendium (which includes all the crunch for 4e published by WotC ever) as well as the DRAGON and DUNGEON...

Premier stores only seem to exist in the USA, in Canada, and on Guam. :erm:

Whoa... New Tripped Out WoTC Home Page...

It's like a Greek tragicomedy: I don't know whether to laugh or cry. The new layout could use a bigger "News and Articles" box. It's still pretty small, and there's some unused space directly below it.

    Dark Sun Collector's Guide

Awesome thread idea. Road to Urik was published in 1992. Your list is missing some Dragon and Dungeon articles: Dragon #364, p66, Campaign Classics: Hazards of Dark Sun (June 2008) Dragon #388, p58, Design & Development: Dark Sun (June 2010) Dragon #389, p11, Fiction: Blood Oasis...

Whoa... New Tripped Out WoTC Home Page...

I am Jack's utter lack of surprise*. Sadly, that's pretty much the SOP of the 4e General Discussion forum nowadays (was it ever different? I fear not). The sky is falling, 4e skinned & ate my cat, WotC is teh evilz, et cetera. *sigh* *Fight Club reference. I don't dislike the new design, I...

What does your ENWorld name mean?

Well, Germans can be crazy like that.

What does your ENWorld name mean?

Your last name appears to be German, so it's not actually wrong to say "weem". (Compare with the pronounciation of tiefling, for example. Of course, Americans can't pronounce that correctly. :p ;))

Who is your favorite cover artist currently working?

Michael Komarck: I love his cover for the 4e PHB3. Larry Elmore: the Red Box cover. Jeff Easley: the cover for the 2e PHB, my first RPG book. Tony Sczcudlo: the cover for the Birthright campaign setting. (Is he still active? I have no idea.) Gerald Brom: the cover for the original Dark Sun...

    Disappointment in thinning Dragon content

It was the other way around, moving DM-related articles from Dragon to Dungeon; early 4e Dragon magazines had lots of DM stuff. And it were more than just 2 columns: Backdrops Bestiary Creature Incarnations Codex of Betrayal Deities & Demigods Demonomicon Domains of Dread Expeditionary...

What does your ENWorld name mean?

(cross-posted from an old thread on the WotC boards) Peraion is from a name generator in a CRPG (Drakensang) and also happens to be the name of an ancient town in Greece. According to some websites, peraion means carrying across. Graufalke is German for Greyhawk. That's my shout-out to Gary...

    Ravenloft Board Game Delayed Again?

Castle Ravenloft is available in Germany right now. (Online shop, no Premier store.) That's my experience as well for Amazon Germany.

    D&D 5E (2014) What's the next setting? (Did I miss something?)

Yeah, they did say during GenCon that Ravenloft is going to be both a campaign setting and a new game similar to Gamma World.

Which Published Settings Have You Played In?

    Full Circle: 1983 - 2010

Well, you don't really need nostalgia as an excuse to buy it. The Red Box is cool, the first print run has the good old Larry Elmore cover, and it's perfect for introducing new people to the hobby. As a bonus, it's also inexpensive! Sounds good to me. :D
