D&D 4E Am I the only one re-booting my 4E experience with Essentials?

He was referring to the situation in Germany ("German market" in Jhaelen's post).

D&D 4E Am I the only one re-booting my 4E experience with Essentials?

I suspect that they haven't found a new publisher yet, which isn't too surprising to me given WotC's treatment of the former D&D publisher in Germany. :erm: But yeah, Essentials in German would be great.

Yeah, that's a nice one. Especially the mind flayer's pose.

4e: big change in essentials: no more daily powers!

Do 4e fans who went from "I can skip Essentials, it doesn't seem interesting" to "Whoa, this sounds awesome, I gotta buy this!" count? Because then I'm grumbling. :D

    Oh wow. Countdown to Essentials

Good point, and I agree. The system works (at least in heroic tier), but it's easy to screw up the balance between the powers.

    Oh wow. Countdown to Essentials

That's a problem with the powers themselves, not the power point system which is fine in my experience. (I'm playing a level 10 ardent in a campaign.)

    OD&D example of play

Yeah, that's strange. I've never come across that term before. The text reads like one player controls all the characters, though I'm pretty sure this isn't the case. Did they leave out the intra-party chatter for brevity?

D&D 4E The still "complete" list of official 4E products, now with 2011!

Ah, I hadn't seen that kind of catalog before; thanks for the link. That said, there's no newer version at the Wizards of the Coast Sales and Distributor Home Page.

    Dragon #389 Ampersand

I could read it without being logged in this morning. Weird. Let's hope they keep the meta-plot world-spanning event optional. And while it does sound interesting there's no way I'll be buying 5 novels just to read the prelude...

    Creature Catalog - Paperback?

Yes, sadly. (I prefer hardcovers.) I did, it was announced last November as a softcover in WotC's product catalog. It's been discussed in this thread around post #125.

    1st Eye on Darksun up!

Ah, that explains it. I've always assumed that's a mul there, and I haven't read the DS novels. I stand corrected. I had never heard/read of them until yesterday.

No Monster Builder update this month, again? :(

    1st Eye on Darksun up!

That's a mul and some giths on that cover.^^ In any case, there's no reference to tareks in my old 2e DS stuff (old box and first MC) that I'm aware of.

    1st Eye on Darksun up!

Nice artwork and quite nasty monster stats (OA's on standing up? Ouch), and I really like the fluff. Hmm, I wonder what happens when a Nightmare Beast gets warped by the sun... Does anyone know what a Tarek is (it's mentioned in the Lore section)?

Has lack of an insider account kept you from playing 4E?

Nope. Should be an option, but the programmers are too busy with other stuff, I guess.
