Scions of the New World:Scene One-Gertle's Gulch...

As Whistler's eyes scan the room for Brahnz he accidentally meets the gaze of Gabe who makes meaningful eye contact and then jerks his head towards the center of the room. A subtle motion of one of his four arms under his poncho reveals one of his hands on his throwing knives. The Mantis goes...

I also saw bits on downloaded files over here... http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/ieoeoverview.mspx But I still don't see anything about logging or reporting on downloaded files.

It looks like they pulled that sidebar from this page: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/features.mspx Internet Explorer download monitoring Warns you about potentially harmful downloads and gives you the option to block files that could be malicious. Is the change it appears to be...

    Half-Celestial +2?

Maybe a wingless 3.0 half-celestial could be +2. But a winged 3.5 SR totin' resurrection throwing half celestial definately is a +4. Isn't the BoED 3.0?

Does a Quickened Spell have a Somatic component?

I know I've read somewhere that they don't as it isn't something that I'd come up with on my own. It was suggested to me recently that I read it in a FAQ entry that was subsquently retracted. Is there a passage somewhere I'm forgetting?

On the other hand, as Microsoft doesn't have the source code for Zone Alarm and Firefox, it's hard to lock down the security holes in ways that don't impact their programs as they are trying to plug the same holes. But I'm sure that like norton they are working on patches that will work with...

    Window XP service pack 2.

I haven't read anything that differentiates automatically installed automatic updates and just automatically downloaded updates, so I'm not sure. I would guess yes. I think that after maybe a week or so more of this, they are going to open it to whomever hasn't gotten it yet and put it on the...

Oh, about the firewall, I have a hardware firewall, but given the ease of use of the windows firewall and the added security, I use both now. While you can still open ports manually for applications like any other firewall, it will also detect the first time an application requests a port to...

    Window XP service pack 2.

Windows XP SP2 was distributed to manufacturers, beta testers, and developers earlier this week and will continue being rolled out to the general populace via automatic updates at the rate of about 25,000 to 50,000 random users per day. It includes security updates to windows, internet...

So, my game is getting small...

My poor gaming group. We lost one player to his wife who had had enough of sacrificing her saturdays. One to simple burn out. One who felt that he dedicated too much of his creative energy through out the week pondering D&D related things. And finally one who felt the group had now grown too...

    Monk Help

They love this stuff in the Character Optimization forum at Wizards. They are working on a fang ring'd, acolyte of the dragon, monk's belt, monk's tatoo'd, improved natural attack, enlarged monk who does some insane number of dice damage per hit before strength is factored in.

    Rogue 10 and what now?

As most of my rogues tend to maximize number of attacks, and thus sneak attacks, with rapid shot, haste, or improved two weapon fighting, crippling strike is my favorite rogue special ability. Let's see, that's 5 hits, for 160 damage and 10 points of strength... :)

    Quicken spell question

Nope. Though it is occasionally house ruled that way. At the levels at which a quickened time stop is available, I don't see a problem with it. Other than exaggerating the power difference between high level casters and high level warriors. :)
