D&D 5E (2014) Kate Welch on Leaving WotC

I'm deeply confused why the brigade here has constructed a strawman out of changing the rules being the method of an improved new player experience as opposed to simply seeing an opportunity for improvements in layout. Indexes, bolding/italicizing/capitalizing/something for keywords, reminder...

    D&D General Eberron resource request

I'm not aware of any particular modules, although I do ask why they need to sneak into the city - it's a big city walking in is always an option. Anyways, there's a few themes you could pull on The war of the Mark. Halas Tarkanan leveled the city ~1500 years ago, paving the way for the ir'Tain...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Maverick (Exploring Eberron)

Yeah the subclass really picks up at 9th level. Is that an issue? Eh, sometimes different power curves for subclasses are fine. You're not too far behind on spell slots until then (3rd vs. 5th starts to get noticeable), and if you're playing Maverick you've already accepted that DPR isn't your...

WotC New M:tG set announced: "Adventures in the Forgotten Realms"

Not exactly true - Brawl uniquely allows all planeswalkers to be commanders, while "normal" commander only allows cards with the printed text giving them an exception.

At least we have Exandria for World Axis fans.

    D&D 5E (2014) The Maverick (Exploring Eberron)

As a playtester, I'll give the context that the Maverick is specifically Keith's baby and has been playing a gnome maverick since January or December. The subclass is intended to reflect one of the book characters, Lei. I'm not going to deny it's definitely weaker in combat than the others, but...

Herald is a good term but I'm personally fine with angels of all stripes in my games.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Celebration Schedule Announced

Rather than getting into another thread explaining why a gnome with 20 str is already possible, I think what's more notable is not only Daniel Kwan speaking but will get a direct opportunity to publicly address the controversy

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

Not sure if you're aware, but Deathless are probably better known for their place in the Eberron Campaign setting as the rulers of the elves.

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

The UA spells (and tattoos) was almost entirely summons, but the UA psionics had a decent collection too. We may even see some new artificer oriented spells as well. Also some people think they'll reprint the SCAGtrips

Level Up (A5E) Simplifying Guidance, Inspiration, and the like through orthogonalisation

I would resist changing dice to flat modifiers - dice are physical objects you can manipulate to remember, while static modifiers are far less tangible. However, I don't disagree that it would help if other types of bonuses were tied up together like advantage and proficiency do.

    D&D 5E (2014) M:TG Kaldheim = Viking campaign book?

These two articles are mandatory reading for understanding the popularity of certain MTG settings. 1-10 scale, with 1 being "virtually guaranteed" and 10 being "Never happening". Tarkir is in the middle of the pack at a 4 (Might end up taking a bit but likely to happen) while Kamigawa is an 8...

    D&D 5E (2014) M:TG Kaldheim = Viking campaign book?

I would be shocked if the plane shift Zendikar precluded a full Zendikar D&D book, given that it's tied with Ravnica for most popular planes. Innistrad though I agree that while it's in the top tier of popular planes (as demonstrated by the fact that they're revisiting it Very Soon), the...

    D&D 5E (2014) M:TG Kaldheim = Viking campaign book?

I think East Asia is more likely to be covered by Tarkir, while South Asia is more likely to be Kaladesh. Kaladesh unfortunately is going to be a while out due to its similarity to Ravnica and Eberron, but I could easily see Tarkir getting a book in 2022 if they return to the plane.

WotC New M:tG set announced: "Adventures in the Forgotten Realms"

Alright, that Vi cover explanation would make me feel a lot less negativity towards JC - that cover came to me as the lead designer trying to co-opt Eberron as his thing by putting making his DMPC the brand character for a setting.

WotC New M:tG set announced: "Adventures in the Forgotten Realms"

As an Eberron fan, it makes a lot more sense for them to lead with FR. Maybe down the line we'll see an Eberron set, but I'm not going to hold my breath. The crossover I'd be more excited for is a Tarkir setting book for D&D - I would definitely buy that.
