From what I have read so far, monsters and NPC's will not use PC rules for creation. Which means you could potentially have a Level 1 NPC blacksmith with Legendary proficiency but only a +4 modifier.

My guess about the new setting for D&D is that it won't actually be Spelljammer. If history has taught us anything, it's that the presence of a single monster in a book does not preclude a new campaign setting being released. We don't have Dark Sun yet but there are Thri-kreen in the Monster...

I am thinking at least one of these products will be the psionics and/or artificer supplement that's been in the works. This could include setting details for dark sun, eberron, etc. as required. But who knows.

Very glad I cancelled my pre-order of this book. Even the Amazon price is high for the amount of reprinted and questionable filler material in this tome.

Yeah, its got poison use in common with the Dark Sun bard, but that's about it. I don't like how 5e has so many spellcasting classes and would not use it for Dark Sun period.

I think Warlords of the Accordlands had some kind of "Storm" entity in it. The setting wasn't actually half bad, despite being created from a card game.
