    I want to go Sailing

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think I will try out Corsairs based on GMSkarka's note that it can be adapted to other genres; I was under the impression it only dealt with ships in the 18th century time period. I already have FFG's Seafarer's Handbook, I probably should have mentioned...

    I want to go Sailing

Thanks Turanil; I've looked at those two selections over and they just aren't fitting what I need. I was hoping to find basically a pairing of those two books!

    I want to go Sailing

I would like to get recommendations for a good resource or rulebook that covers medieval era naval ships. Mainly I am most concerned about deck plans (maps) and possibly rules on boarding and ship combat. I would like to have a wide range of ships as well (warships, schooners, barques, etc.) I'd...

    Customer Service Snafu

I don't think anyone that disagreed with you on the tone of the email was stating that they thought it was an acceptable business practice. I for one did not read any sarcasm in the email, but I certainly don't think the way in which he replied was conducive to retaining a loyal customer. Vote...

    Spell Points

Although the spells and their schools have been reorganized, I think Midnight by FFG has a fairly easy and balanced spell point system. A lot of the earlier confusing text has now been clarified in the second edition book, which is now available for sale.

    Midnight 2E rocks

I didn't know if I liked the new change to Greater Evocation either, but I think it's for the best. Midnight, IMHO, shold not be a world of channelers throwing about fireballs and meteor storms. It's more about subtle magic, and reserving your most powerful spells for the final battle (then...

    Midnight Second Edition

I just picked up a copy of Midnight Second Edition this afternoon; I haven't had much time to look through it yet, but from what I've seen so far, it is a great looking book with lots of new updates. New art, new maps, lots of new material, new slick pages. And a strong binding :D Plenty to...

    Midnight Second Edition

I know that Overstock.com has it (as well as Walmart). Last I checked both had the wrong image for the book, but the ISBN's were correct. No update on Amazon.com though.

Site idea - Gamers in the Military

I would respond to a site that perhaps took requests from soldiers overseas for gaming items. Of course I would only send items to those in the combat arms, we all know how good those poges have it on deployments :D Poor bloody infantry...

    Midnight Second Edition

I run a Midnight campaign, I still get less use out of it then I like :p Midnight has been the only campaign setting I really could get behind, after many years of running games in my own homebrew campaigns.

    Midnight Second Edition

Ahh yes, the binding issue from the first edition. I suffered a similar fate, but was very impressed by how quickly I got a replacement from FFG when I contacted them about it. Good customer service goes a long way...

    Midnight Second Edition

Fantasy Flight Games' Midnight Second Edition will be available for sale tomorrow. Anyone here planning on picking it up? And if you are, do you have the first edition book, or will this be your first foray into the setting?

    Wil Wheaton Drops Dungeon Column

[Posting Opinion] Sorry, I just didn't like any of the articles. I thought it got kind of old talking about playing D&D with his stepson after the first article. Maybe it had to due with the fact that I had read some of his blogs relating some of his same experiences. A lot of it just seemed...

Game Calendar. Do you have one?

It's not a homebrew calendar, but I do keep track of the days, weeks and months with the calendar for my Midnight campaign. I don't remember off-hand how the year is broken down, but months are referred to as 'arcs'. I like keeping a calendar for the simple fact that it allows you to look back...

    Crazed Substitute DM

This new "DM" is looking to usurp you by buying your players off with levels, gold and magic items. Take him out now, as well as any of his offspring. It's the only way to maintain control.

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not

You wrote the Risk:2210 articles? Funny, those articles convinced me to go and pick up that game. Maybe you can still get a commission from Hasbro ;) I wrote an article for the game company I was working for at the time, called Hundred Kingdoms. Can't recall the title of the article though...

    Duties of a Best Man

A bit off topic of bachelor parties, but on-topic with the whole "best man responsibilities": If you're stumped for a good witty line to use in your toast, I heard this one at a wedding a few years ago: [Adressing the newly married couple] "As a symbolic gesture, [Insert Groom's Name Here]...

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not

How about: had an article published in the very first issue of Undefeated? Thanks; although she doesn't quite like it when I ask her to sing it for other people

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not
