D&D General Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford Join Darrington Press

My Spanish family has been there since the mission was being built, so nine generations is just them, not counting the (sadly) unknown Chumash predecessors. It only takes like 160-200 years to hit nine generations, depending on the age of mothers at time of childbirth. I don’t keep the records...

Not yet. I will when I update it tho

D&D General Rogue as Assassin and Rogue as Jack

We can have both tbh. And we should, IMO. My rewrite for the monk had that as its focus, with a lean toward Samurai, Kensei, wuxia sword saints, and Destreza (Spanish semi-esoteric fencing school of “true skill”) and so a focus on a single weapon or fighting style with martial arts attacks...

D&D General Rogue as Assassin and Rogue as Jack

They don’t have all the same core stuff. Assassin doesn’t even have sneak attack, their bonus action features have different moves, they have different base skill loadouts, only one gets jack of all trades, very different level 5 features offense and defense wise, one is (almost entirely)...

D&D General An At-Will Warlock, Warlock’s Curse, and an Idiosyncratic Recharge Idea

Hmm. I think I’d prefer to just have a variant feature that replaces pact magic with more invocations, and add back in the “cast this spell once a day” invocations, and maybe have some “these couple spells can be cast as a ritual” invocations to be in between normal at will and 1/day. And...

D&D General Rogue as Assassin and Rogue as Jack

Subclass spotlight Acrobatic Jack - Increased speed climb speed ignore difficult terrain Gain special attack rider options when you move at least 10ft before attacking Enemies have disadvantage on opportunity attacks Quarterstaff counts as light and finesse, as do unarmed strikes, unarmed...

D&D General Rogue as Assassin and Rogue as Jack

Interesting. I don’t know that I’d go that way, but I do think that the Jack should be able to trade SA dice for tactical tricksters benefits, while the assassin should be able to gain advantage with no action economy cost by dropping a die, with their mark also increasing crit range (at level...

D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

Whereas I’ve never liked Spelljammer in execution (the Phlogiston gave me an irrational hatred even though I love Aether which isn’t that different…idk) but the Spelljammer set made me pumped to actually play Spelljammer.

D&D General Rogue as Assassin and Rogue as Jack

The Assassin Concepts - Heroic expert in asymmetrical combat, with a mystical twist. Light esotericism with select ritual spells and the option to lean into or away from that aspect more both in the “Assassin’s Tactics” options and the subclasses. Core Features - Mystical connection to...

D&D General Rogue as Assassin and Rogue as Jack

The Jack The Jack is the skill monkey, the plucky lucky hero who wins with wits and skill and tricks and tools. Core features Jack of All Trades, at level 1 Prof 3 skills, and a tool Specialization Feature, choose one Gadgets. Non-magical inventor Tricks, either very limited spells or...

D&D General Rogue as Assassin and Rogue as Jack

So I have for a long time wanted to split the rogue into two classes, one dedicated to being a sneaky classic assassin complete with mystical associations (the historical group that gives the archetype its name had mystical beliefs and elements of their practices), special tools and tactics...

D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

Maybe we will get a supplement for it. Or a book about the multiverse that supplements both it and Planescape

    Disney sues Midjourney

Good. I despise Disney as a company, but someone big had to get involved for us to have any real hope of stopping the AI companies.

D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

Spelljammer is liked by everyone I know who isn’t on Enworld or similar places habitually arguing about D&D.

D&D 5E (2024) Gunslinger Class (from Valda's Spire of Secrets) on DnD Beyond!

Ah replicate magic item! Thanks! Okay, so you still technically can’t make a gun your arcane firearm since it specifies wand, rod, or staff, but you can shoot through it anyway. More fuel for the request to count it as a wand for purpose of that feature.

D&D General An At-Will Warlock, Warlock’s Curse, and an Idiosyncratic Recharge Idea

Imagine the Warlock with something like Hex as a class feature. Now bring back the old playtest idea of transforming into the type of creature associated with your pact, like an archfey gaining cat eyes or hag warts, a fiend gaining horns, etc, but instead you have an altered state that is...

D&D 5E (2024) Gunslinger Class (from Valda's Spire of Secrets) on DnD Beyond!

I don’t see that in the UA. Am I just blind? I am reading the article and I see where you can use tools as a focus, and then in the Artillerist I see being able to use your arcane firearm as a focus, but the arcane firearm is a wand rod or stave. Well the gunner feat is from Tasha’s or...
