    Is DnD well-balanced?

Is it just me or do neither of these posts make any sense whatsoever? I am really trying to understand what they are saying but I just can't figure it out.

Making minis that sell well, but NON RANDOM

Reaper Miniatures' 'Legendary Encounters' line does exactly this. Of course they have a total of 39 miniatures after 4 years but....

I think I know who has the Star Wars license...

Of course now we have an extra 3 movies of crap that has tarnished the property a great deal. I do think FFG will make money off of the license but it won't be from RPGs. Boardgames, card games and maybe minis are where the real money lies. RPGs are a sideline at best in this case.

    Good miniatures set?

Miniatures, Board Games, CCG's & More Honest, easy to order from and have decent prices on most common 'bulk' figures you sound like you are looking for. Shipping, if you are in the USA, is free on orders over $75 iirc. edit - forgot to add - look in the DDM and Reapermini-->Legendary...

Using DosBox and SSI's games to Play DnD Modules

They were orcs. I had 4 wizards (most multiclassed to fighter or thief) and they all launched sleep spells in the first round in that one. Only reason I was able to beat it (after about 5 tries!).

Using DosBox and SSI's games to Play DnD Modules

That's because it is boring. The table top RPG they made off of it is pretty good though. This sounds awesome. I too have been on an old school computer gaming kick and was just wondering how I could get my hands on some of the old 'gold box' stuff. Thanks!

    your penalty for character death

So not really stingy then? Fair enough. Well the first part can be overcome - just add to your PCs backstory now. I have often added, and encouraged others to add, to my PCs back stories while the game is on. As long as it isn't outlandish or contradicts what has gone before...

    Maps/Tiles or Dry/Wet Erase?

Paizo Flip mats are pretty much all I'll use from now on. You can use dry or wet erase and they come (for the most part) with one side having a kick ass pre-printed map and the other side a 'blank' of the flooring style depicted on the other side. Some see this as a bug but it is a feature...

    your penalty for character death

Did the DM not state up front how replacement PCs would be handled? If not that is pretty poor form on his part. If he did then I would say you knew the risks. I'm going to assume that no discussion of how to handle replacement PCs took place. That was a mistake, imo, but they happen...

Status of Star Wars RPG/Mini License?

This, when combined with your avatar, is extremely funny  I'm still waiting for a decent Star Trek rpg myself.

    How to punish a metagamer?

...at least that is how it is usually done in the USA. Other places...well... But would they be CE? Actually I think alignments are an incredibly simplistic mechanic used to measure in game actions. It is only when people add in real, modern world morality (y'know the kind that doesn't...

    How to punish a metagamer?

If you have a group why would you care about being "black-balled"? Is that a legitimate concern? Is this "largest group in San Antonio" part of the mafia or something? I am having a really hard time imagining how this could affect your game at the table. Would you lose your playing space maybe?

    How to punish a metagamer?

There are many who consider capital punishment evil and chaotic. Heck I could probably find people who feel genocide is a 'moral good' too! Really it would just go around and around and around. We're talking about game mechanics - not real life. Mixing them is a way to madness!

    How to punish a metagamer?

Ahhh the siren call of :):):):):):):) players everywhere! He will never get better than he is right now and will most likely get worse and worse. hint: he is already playing CE - ignore the scribbles he has placed upon his character sheet. Killing defenseless sentients is evil and chaotic...

Any love for the Scarred Lands?

Oh - that is another gem of a book. The Prestige Class (some kind of rune-themed wizard) is a little wonky but the fluff text is top notch. Really nice maps of the undermountain city in that too. Basically some well written 'classic' mountain dwelling dwarfs.

Any love for the Scarred Lands?

Yup - Mithril: City of the Golem and Blood Bayou (with lots of details of the Jack of Tears an insanely awesome villain who led the Carnival of....something - the name escapes me right now but it was filled with creepy "carnies" who ranged from heron-men to psychotic assassins) both excellent...

Any love for the Scarred Lands?

While I'm not Treebore the one supplement I would personally recommend to every DM on the planet is Hallowfaust:City of the Necromancers. One of the true high water marks for the entire Scarred Lands run. I would also recommend Calastia: Throne of the Black Dragon and Edge of Infinity: the...
