    Taking a Step Back

You still don't think this is possible? I think there are enough minor and mid-level creators that would sign up to play directly in D&D's D&D Beyond playground rather than being on OneBookShelf's Dungeon Masters Guild. True, the big publishers like Kobold Press, Paizo, and EN Publishing will...

    Taking a Step Back

I do not believe that what Wizards of the Coast is trying to do is right, much less ethical, and I also believe that they have irrevocably (see what I did there) damaged not only 3PPs, but also the goodwill they have built with the Dungeons & Dragons community. I am surprised, I am upset, and I...

WotC Walks Back Some OGL Changes, But Not All

Emphasis mine. Exactly! That's why Paizo has said that they will be stripping the OGL from future publications until ORC is finalized. Paizo:

    RPG Evolution: Fixing the Mess

They have shown their willingness by distributing this license with an NDA attached. I would agree with you on the "bad thoughts" comment if they hadn't already acted on this by distributing it externally. Sure, they might let it go for now, but this shows what they really want to do and I'm...

    RPG Evolution: Fixing the Mess

I can't speak for anyone else, but even if WotC doesn't go forward with this version of the license, they have shown what they were willing and capable of doing; that alone alone has lead me away from D&D 5E entirely, and I will not be buying any more D&D products produced by WotC. I'm only one...

OGL: What Are The Publishers Saying [UPDATED]

Mongoose is Looking for a Full-time Brand Manager

I wish Mongoose the best of luck. If this posting had gone out a decade ago and you were willing to sponsor an American, I would have been chuffed to come work for such a great company in the land of my Great Grandfather. As it stands, I'm married now, have kids, and all of my wife's family...

    D&D General The DM Shortage

Emphasis mine. That's the most amazing thing ever. My kids are 1 and 3, and I hope they have that opportunity at school!

D&D General Do you want a 3D vtt?

Honestly, my potato of a netbook that I received from my MBA program has a hard enough time keeping things straight in Roll20, so I highly doubt it would handle a 3D VTT very well. That being said, if the VTT runs well I may be convinced to use it if my friends wanted to. We don't play 5E much...

    Rolemaster Unified, Dec 3 2022

Haven't had a chance to dive in fully yet, but at first glance the layout appears to be a significant improvement over previous editions of the game. I agree with others in that the cover art does the book no favors, however.

    Rolemaster Unified, Dec 3 2022

I've been waiting on RMU for years. I've graduated college, got married, had two kids, and four jobs since I first started following it. I love the granularity promised by the system, a perfect fit for myself, who loves to build and tinker when building my world. I can't wait to buy this!

    D&D General "I have had a 'D&D Hangover'" (a poll)

I'm an introvert as well. I'd say that I still feel physically drained, at least for an hour or so afterwards, but I feel mentally rejuvenated and feel an intense upswing in positivity after a D&D session.

D&D General "As a whole, 3rd Party Products Make D&D Better." (a poll)

I think 3rd Party Products, overall, lead to a better environment for D&D to thrive in. To quote the Vulcans, "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations."

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 5.5e, will you get it?

Yes, I'll buy them. 5E is what my scene plays, so that's what I run. I don't see that changing with the advent of 5.5.

Pathfinder 2E How is Pathfinder doing?

This is where I'm at as well. I was pretty deep into 5E for a long while, but it's warts began to show. It got to the point where I'd rather not play in my weekly D&D game at my LFGS than play 5E.* Then PF2 hit the scene and now 5E just is not even remotely palatable for me in any way shape or...

Basic D&D Was Selling 600,000+/Year At One Point

Fixed that for you. ;) In all seriousness, I'm not surprised by how well Basic sold, it's a great system with a nice presentation; so much so that many players ended up using mostly Basic rules when they were playing AD&D.* *Note: I've heard this by word of mouth. I was not born when the...
