D&D General Now You Can Buy Gygax & Arneson Miniatures!

I've had the "Games Knight" from Bears Head Miniatures for several years.

D&D General How Long Did You Play the Different Editions of D&D? (+)

2e: 1999-2003(?) Intermediate School and most of Middle School. Not sure exactly when I picked up 3rd Edition, but I remember having just the D&D Adventure Game boxed set from 1999 for several years. 3e: 2003-2008 Late Middle School and all of High School. By the time 4E was released my group...

WotC WotC reported 50% growth over 2020!

My FLGS at least is very dependent on what is "in" at any particular point in time. Part of that, I'm sure, is due to having only so much capital that they can tie up in non-TCG games as they used to be almost entirely a card shop.

WotC WotC reported 50% growth over 2020!

As they say, "That's, like, your opinion man," and it's a valid one. There are plenty of people that do not enjoy the OSR style of game, but there are plenty of people who have never even given it a chance. Also, as Urriak Uruk stated, OSR doesn't necessarily mean exactly the way things were...

WotC WotC reported 50% growth over 2020!

And heaven forbid you try to get gamers at your local store to try an RPG that isn't available right on the FLGS' shelf. I vastly prefer OSR games, but no one wants to give them a chance because nowadays a game's worth is judged by whether it is on the shelf.

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder Nexus is the Official Toolset for PF2E

Great news for PF2 players! I can also appreciate the pressure this will be put on D&D Beyond from a comparative point of view, which is good for everyone. Edit: I play D&D, but GM Pathfinder, so it's a double-win for me!

    D&D Movie/TV D&D Movie - Wild Speculation and Poll

I'm thinking a Lighthearted Fantasy where the players are sucked into the game in an evil DM kind of way set in the Forgotten Realms/or homebrew. My gut just thinks this would be the best compromise between the general audience that the movie needs to try and reach and us fans.

DDAL Adventurers League seeks your input, even if you do not play AL.

Filled it out. I haven't DM'd AL in over two years. I didn't like how decentralized the program was in terms unified tracking, rules enforcements, and logs. I'm not sure what the answer would be to fix it, but it made it so that AL at one store could be VASTLY different from AL at another store...

WotC James Wyatt is on the Dungeons & Dragons Team Again

Some other users already refreshed my memory on it. Thanks! :)

WotC James Wyatt is on the Dungeons & Dragons Team Again

Can someone PM me the about the Mike Mearls controversy to not derail the thread. I don't remember the details.

WotC James Wyatt is on the Dungeons & Dragons Team Again

I think it has to do with beefing up the D&D team since Hasbro has taken a greater interest in development of the brand as a whole.

D&D 5E (2014) Too Few Player Options During Combat?

I think Pathfinder 2E might just fit your group much better. I love PF2, I think it is a great system, I just prefer to start from 5E and add rules/rulings to it rather than start from PF2 and subtract things from it.

D&D 5E (2014) Too Few Player Options During Combat?

    1. I think you are selling 3PP material, including the Dungeon Masters Guild, a little short here. There is a lot of good stuff available that is at the same level as WoTC's efforts. If what you really mean is that there is so much that it is time consuming to wade through the chaff to find the...

D&D General The Era of D&D and Star Wars

Point of order. WoTC bought TSR on April 10, 1997, with 3rd Edition released in 2000. Very much a WoTC publication. Edit: Derp! Misread. My bad!

D&D 5E (2014) Sell Out: Hasbro and the Soul of D&D

I just don't buy the premise that D&D is really in danger from becoming big. First, as others have said, the SRD exists. Secondly, if the SRD is only not enough for you if you need something official from the corporate source. I love official stuff, but I don't NEED it. D&D won't be dead because...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC to increase releases per year?

While I would love to see Greyhawk published along with some regional Realms books, I'd like to see some more focused books like someone said upthread. Sandstorm, and the like from 3E were great books and could still fill the Player & DM content requirement. I'm really tired of having little...

WotC WotC Gets A New Logo?

Not my jam, but whatever. I definitely see the made for digital distribution aspect of the redesign. I'll still call them WoTC "wotsee" just to mentally disturb @Umbran.
