Right in the books they were. In the adventures, that’s an option though not a certainty. I would highly recommend if people use these stat blocks to foreshadow the danger as best as possible and the options available.
Ok so dragons of autumn will now be level 12-15, party splits and dragons of winter is 16-19 and most of spring is 16-19 as well, and temple of Ariakas is the level 20 capstone. Done and done, we got this let’s goooooo
Ok. New Verminaard art makes WAY more sense (red dragon commander getting red armor) but I will say that since I already finished my custom mini for him with blue armor, I’m a hair sad.
Or OR a subtle hint that once you finish shadow of the Dragonqueen, there’s a whole series of adventures you can do and here’s some free conversion work wink wink wink
Oh yeah 100% I’m just looking at this from a conversion standpoint and I’m like “oh. Uh. Guess 5th level as the start for Dragons of Autumn isn’t the intended anymore!”
I think an interesting thing is that while classes and feats get less powerful, species and backgrounds get more powerful. I’m wondering if this is a conscious design decision
Man I hope this is the case. I’m getting a hair tired of buying books only to be presented with yet another entire anthropomorphic species. I’m all for this personally
