WotC Mike Mearls: "D&D Is Uncool Again"

Of all the things to measure, coolness might be one the most subjective.

WotC Mike Mearls: "I Was Not Fired From D&D"

What's ProJared got to do with this? I didn't see any mention of that? Perhaps you're mixing up your creeps?

Dungeons & Dragons Teases New Campaign Settings

I don’t have a list of demands or anything when it comes to new settings, happy to let ‘em cook. I’ve never really met a setting I didn’t like.

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

I’ve heard it used. I always thought it was a shortened version of ‘street toughs’ Which are like local gang members or small time ruffians. I have no idea where it originates from though.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

I have pretty limited knowledge but I did watch someone rank the sets online once. The main one I remember was a Kamagawa : Neon Dynasty As someone else mentioned there’s a new set coming out this year Edge of Eternities, but I couldn’t find much on it.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

I might be alone in this but I’d like to see them try their hand at a couple more MtG books. Theros and Ravnica were both great books that brought useful, interesting new ideas to the game. And although Strixhaven fell a bit short of the previous two attempts, it still had a fun concept that...

D&D General Ray Winninger on 5e’s success, product cadence, the OGL, and more.

I didn’t realise It End with Us was based on a novel. That’s even crazier than I originally thought.

D&D General Ray Winninger on 5e’s success, product cadence, the OGL, and more.

Never underestimate the power of an established IP. Taking movies as an example, last year the top 16 highest grossing films were all either sequels or things based on existing IP’s like Wicked.

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

We played last night for the first time this year, as the DM just get back from holiday. Was fun, we’re in some underground tunnels that lead inside a volcano. We’re looking for the first of 6 legendary artefacts that will make up the campaign endgame (after 2 years). Even at level 14 it feels...

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG 2024: The Planes

I know, I usually try my best to “let it go through to the keeper” to use some cricket slang.

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG 2024: The Planes

A desire to learn and play the game that they are interested in? Why wouldn't someone new to the game buy the books?

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG 2024: The Planes

There's 3 pages on dungeons. I don't know what the part in brackets is meant to mean? Are you confused as to why someone new to the game would buy the books in an attempt to learn the game?

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG 2024: The Planes

Fiends aren't in one location, they're in 3 different sections. Dinosaurs might be a better example.

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG 2024: The Planes

Not specifically, just a general index… Apologies for the bad quality photo. I’d be happy if just the bosses had their own section. But even with the limited categories here, I don’t dig it. I should note I’ve never actually used the book in play, I just use it as a casual flick through for...

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG 2024: The Planes

The Dark Souls 5E book had monsters arranged by type and I found it to be an awful way to organize things.

Watching films at the cinema - also, RIP David Lynch.

I agree with Lynch on this one. Movies are better in a cinema. Thankfully it's pretty rare for me to have a bad movie going experience, and I go every couple of weeks. I'm not sure if it's an Australian thing, or that I tend to go to arthouse/indy cinemas rather than the massive multiplexes...
