I thought that showing the origin story in a TV show montage celebrating 4 yeas of the Fantastic Four was a good way to catch up the audience whilst also giving background to the world we're in.

I'm not sure how wild it is to have a movie about the Fantastic Four focus on the Fantastic Four.

I thought the film was worth seeing for the production design alone. I loved the 60’s retro future look of everything. Apparently it was the same design team that worked on the Loki series. Galactus and Silver Surfer were also highlights, but everyone was perfectly cast.

So once a player learns the spell 'control weather' the game is no longer simulationist? ;) I'm just kidding. I know what you meant, I just thought it was a funny example.

Yeah, Quinn as the Human Torch is probably what I'm most looking forward to in the film. OK, him and Galactus.

I was a fan of that version too, would have loved to see them get a sequel and do the Judge Death storyline. I liked the whacky storylines in 2000 AD more than Judge Dredd specifically, so probably why I can see Taika working. I can understand being worried if you want a more grounded Dredd again.

I read yesterday there's talk of Taika directing a new Judge Dredd film, which I think could work.

The more I think back on the movie, the more I liked it and the more I think it worked. It just took a while for my mind to get used to a Superman in the Gunn style, but his mix of sentimental and silly as actually a good fit. I'm extremely keen for Supergirl now. It did make me wonder about...

The enemy only has 1 hp left and your weapon has the Graze property, so no need to make that attack roll. More time saved. ;)

If weapon mastery means combat can take longer due to the extra rolls involved, but ends earlier due to extra PC power, it sounds like it all evens out in the end. ;)

High level fighters can get multiple attacks. Gladiators are high level fighters therefore they get multiple attacks. I'm not sure I see the narrative dissonance.

The campaign I'm playing in where we switched to the updated rules has been a little slow to adopt weapon mastery. We don't bother with it a lot of the time, it's more something that players will pull out during a tough fight or if there's a specific reason to use an ability.

The point being, turn based combat means one person acts at a time.

Turn based combat. Eg: If you line up a million people and each one uses a free action to pass a piece of paper (or whatever) from one person to the next, you can move that piece of paper an infinite distance in 6 seconds, based on how many people you can line up.
