    Weapon Focus & Implements

Solution: just errata away the prerequisites, then the elemental damage feats will survive. Because there's *bleep* all else for casters to take in the way of feats... :p

D&D Solos - just not that threatening

That one worked because a) he has a Flyby Attack b) the terrain is set up to favor precisely that tactic (i.e. he can circle around corridors and be out of the party's LoS between his attacks) And before you ask: the one in Trollhaunt Warrens was reasonably exciting purely because of the...

D&D Solos - just not that threatening

The best solo fight I've run is the specially designed one in Pyramid of Shadows. You know, the one with the multiple actions and the hazard backing it up. That one had my party on the ropes until they (by sheer luck) discovered the monster wasn't immune to the hazard... ;) OTOH, possibly the...

    Weapon Focus & Implements

Implement Focus is the sort of thing that would have to be introduced in a PH, since it's not particular to any one power source. So, maybe in PH3, a year from now? Of course, it would trample all over the elemental damage feats, which would need errata of some sort to not become completely...

Should Implements have their own proficiency bonus?

Implement vs. Fort attacks are not much better... My Warlock player had a very rough time in the Heroic tier trying to connect with Diabolic Grasp and Howl of Doom. Some of that was down to suboptimal tactics, of course, but not all of it. The Wizard, constantly targeting Ref, did a whole lot...

Dwarves make as good/better primal characters than elves.

It just amuses me that apparently you have infinite time to back and forth on elves vs. razorclaw as archers, yet you have no time at all for the examples that actually fit your original criteria for being optimal... :hmm:

    Weapon Focus & Implements

By any reasonable interpretation, you are absolutely correct. However, according to Customer Service and the Character Builder, reason need not apply... :erm:

Dwarves make as good/better primal characters than elves.

Actually, I agree with you. Perhaps it wasn't as clear from the context as it could have been, but I was really arguing by example against the Mad Arab's assertion that matching stats is the most important thing. But since he didn't even respond to my two blunt examples proving him wrong by his...

    Healing Outside of Combat

This. Exactly what I do. And so far, in 12 levels of play, the passage of "actual time" has never been relevant.

    Melee Sorcerer advice

In my game, I play it this way - but that's just because casters still have so very few feats worth taking, and gimping Multiclass implement-wise would infuriate some of my players too much. RAW, though... well, look at Asmor's quote above. I'm afraid that Multiclassing and Dilettante by a...

ONE build that MIGHT be better? Didn't read my post at all, did you? :(

    So, about Expertise...

I'm lucky in that when I described the feat/s to my players they all responded the same way: that it's a boring way to design a feat, that they would all feel obligated to spend a feat slot on it, and that they would be happy if I banned it. So I did. :D

Dwarves make as good/better primal characters than elves.

Well, if you're going strictly by "must have racial bonus to both primary and secondary stat", elves still make the best Predator Druids and Pursuit Avengers (tied with Razorclaws on the stats, but I would take elven accuracy over razorclaw shifting any day). And as others have pointed out, any...

Question about Dragonkin Defender's "None Shall Pass" ability

The general rule is of course that flavor is whatever you want it to be. But for immobilize/restrain powers there is actually one crunchy factor you need to consider: is it a condition that can be teleported away from, or not? You as DM have final say in this, but it's only fair to the players...

    Same Skill Training Twice?

From "Ask Wizards": Or in other words: you're SOoL. But in my game I houserule that you can just pick something else, I see no reason to hose players like that.

Are skill bonuses on races considered racial bonuses?

Where did you find that definition? Because the only one I can find is the one I quoted from page 275. And I've already covered that, by taking the typical rules lawyer's literal-mindedness to the next level. If you're serious about treating the RAW as scripture, how can you object to that...

Are skill bonuses on races considered racial bonuses?

While I actually agree with your conclusion, I have to point out that your argument isn't that strong. That same page (275 BTW, not 255) also has the statement that "A feat bonus is granted by a feat", among other examples. It also has the general exception that "Some bonuses are untyped."...

    Forced Movement and Saving Throws

We've discussed this a bit in my group and decided that the intent is for saves to be made only for situations that are potentially instant death. So just pushing someone down a 10' hill doesn't qualify. Nor does sliding someone into a zone that will hurt but not be instantly fatal.
