    Half-Dryad race

Another thing I'd like to note is that monster abilities have scaled badly when we've let them be played as PCs with character classes, hence my suggestion about the spell save DC.

    Half-Dryad race

For a PC, I think it's still a little lacking in features.

    Half-Dryad race

Is this supposed to be an NPC race?

    Half-Dryad race

This is pretty awesome, but I think it needs something more, probably just description. What about: Weapon proficiencies: Spears, Bows, Pike, Whip 3rd level: Entangle once per long rest 5th level: barkskin once per long rest Might want to make the spell save DC for Fey Charm 8 + Charisma...

D&D 5E (2014) If you use Group Initiative (like my group does), why do you use it?

Pretty much the topic. We're using the DMG rule for group initiative and have found that combat goes much much faster, and we coordinate better as a team. It also makes more believable behavior from the other side. If you use it, why do you use it?

D&D 5E (2014) How many combats does your 5e group typically have between long rests, if you have at least one?

In the games we play, we have 2-4 per day usually, but all of these fights are really tough, and someone almost always goes down. Most of these fights usually have 12-16 creatures involved.

D&D 5E (2014) How do you handle Commoners in your game?

Oooh, but then they WOULD have hit points, because they would actually receive the XP for choking the dragon, and then they would all die as soon as they leveled!

D&D 5E (2014) XP vs Story Line Progression Leveling model in 5th edition

We use story leveling, it has worked well. It's not like we have people missing several sessions in a row or anything, and none of us sees the need to punish people for not being able to show up, which is what missing out on XP becomes. We've abandoned a lot of the 'overhead' rules like...

D&D 5E (2014) Ranger fight: PHB vs. UA

I played this ranger for one session. It lends itself to an incredibly boring playstyle - attack and give advantage every round. It gets old fast. Went back to my character being an Eldritch Knight. To be fair, it sounds incredibly munchkin on paper, but in play it's just kinda meh.

D&D 5E (2014) How do you handle Commoners in your game?

    1) Scenarios like wolves eating the farmers' chickens could be easily dealt with while the PC's are shooting the wolves attacking the farmer at range, as the farmer draws their attention. 2) More interesting scenarios, like an NPC starving to death because the orcs are trying to attack that NPC...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you handle Commoners in your game?

If they have no AC value, they can't be hit, and I didn't assign one.

D&D 5E (2014) How do you handle Commoners in your game?

They're un-damageable and do 1hp of damage if attacking.

    D&D 5E (2014) Computer/Mobile programs that allow custom races/classes?

Hi, I have Fantasy Grounds, but it's really not meant for an in-person game, and we have custom races/classes in one of our D&D games. What are my options for something where we can add custom races/classes/data without programming? (This would be a bit cumbersome with Fantasy Grounds)

D&D 5E (2014) Short Rests: How many does your group get/take between long rests, on average?

We're playing Dragonlance DL2 and getting our asses handed to us. Even at 4th level, 12 draconians in one encounter and 2 trolls in the next sapped all our spells and resources for the day. We couldn't have run in either case. There were 5 PCs and 2 NPCs in the party for the first one, 5 and...
