    D&D 5E (2014) Whimsy in your game?

If only it could have Drizzt with one of his anklets removed and the other cursed, so he is always tripping and falling over things because one leg is moving faster than the other.

    D&D 5E (2014) Whimsy in your game?

For once, we can remember the names of the characters in the module. When WotC tries to be serious, it just comes off terrible, and their attempts at uber-sounding names just get mocked. I can remember names like Topsy, Turvy, and Stool. In other recent WoTC modules, we are always chasing a...

And not it's the 20th of October...

The game was a mess, and had a large revolt of D&D fans clamoring that it wasn't 5e. So you have people reporting software bugs, and people reporting what appear to them to be bugs because the designers aren't following the 5e rules...or any version D&D rules on most of the occasions where that...

D&D 5E (2014) A WOTC 5e Warlord That Would Be Acceptable To Skeptics

Y'all know you're just feeding the troll, right?

Hating n-Space so hard right now for their entire community system bahavior

I want to access support to create a ticket about my account. Their recent account bug ruined my account, and now when I try to sign up again as support suggests, it says "Account creation failed". But I need an account to create a ticket. It fails on EVERY account I try to make. WHAT THE...

D&D 5E (2014) Just read Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf...

Catti-Brie is just a terrible, flat character overall, I'm surprised it's just a lack of armor that bothers you. I can think of at least ten other bit-players in these novels with more development than her. She's never had any goals or agendas. What an uncompelling character.

D&D 5E (2014) Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide: Player Content Guesses

I am referring to the one they have in the picture of the collectors' packages on the website. It's a graphic of the terrible map that was in Phandelver, HotDQ and I think it may have been in an earlier module or maybe an AL supplement.

    D&D 5E (2014) How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

Exhibit A: Warlord shouting someone's arm back on. (Mike Mearls said this wasn't possible!)

RPG Evolution: Will LEGO Ever Replace Miniatures?

Gaming with legos just turns into comedy, and/or players playing with the scenery because it's not their turn and they're just listening/want something to do with their hands. (IME)

    D&D 5E (2014) How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

Mostly mechanical. The 4e context had the Warlord with strange martial healing powers. I am not even going to discuss that, but the end result is it is absent in 5th. There are also a lot of mechanical grid-based things that the warlord had which do not work in 5th either, especially if you do...

[UPDATED] Out of the Abyss Reviews Have Started Rolling In

We played this for 8 hours this past Saturday, and only just got our stuff back. We all had fun, as the NPCs are a blast to interact with, but I don't know how well this is going to go down as an Encounters module. The pace is just too slow. I found it hilarious, because our DM likes to fill...

    D&D 5E (2014) How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

Pretty much this. Having played this class for the majority of my year or so in 4e, it was fun, but doesn't really make sense in a 5e context.

D&D 5E (2014) Just read Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf...

Neither Salvatore or Drizzt have been anything to D&D for a long time now other than a marketing device. That explains everything. Just look at the lack of anything non-Drizzt written by Salvatore in the lineup. The Jarlaxle/Artemis books were fun, and I want to hear more about those...

D&D 5E (2014) Ability Checks in 5e- How often do you use them?

I don't know. I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea of Persuasion. Call me old school or a grognard or what have you, but the system has some pretty good skills that let you get the information you need without resorting to a die roll on the player side to determine if your words have the...

D&D 5E (2014) Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide: Player Content Guesses

Retiring that awful sword coast map they've been using for the last couple of years for something readable would be my speculation. I can't believe they're including that turd with the uber-expensive version of Sword Coast Legends.

D&D 5E (2014) Kender as an appropriate race

Having a Kender not be disruptive is a very group-centric issue and shouldn't be taken lightly. The Kender player in question should not be able to choose when and where they accidentally steal from other PCs. That is the fatal flaw that gets so many groups hating them. Kleptomaniacs, at least...
