I read that Ridley Scott set the first Gladiator in the "cinematic history" of Rome- that is, the Rome of movies, not of history. This one seems to be doing the same.

If you don't see this as putting words in someone else's mouth: ...then you should know that I and probably others do see it as putting words in the mouth of people who disagree with you. If that's not your intention, then it might be worth clarifying or rewording.

It's pretty disingenuous to put histrionic words in the mouths of people you disagree with.

I'm sorry, but who is saying the game is filled with "unbearable soul-crushing" offenses? I have yet to read one critique of the sexist writing in early D&D as "unbearable, soul-crushing offense."
