D&D 5E (2014) Call of the Netherdeep: marketing has begun, screenshots thread

That book has four introductory adventures, one of which is set in the region of Xhorhas, near where Call of the Netherdeep apparently begins.

D&D 5E (2014) Call of the Netherdeep: marketing has begun, screenshots thread

It seems to me to just be a normal D&D adventure book (so more like Rime of the Frost Maiden). I've seen no indication that the characters from the show will be featured in it (I think that would be listed as a selling point if they were).

D&D 5E (2014) Call of the Netherdeep: marketing has begun, screenshots thread

Though Tal'Dorei Reborn is a recent book, it covers a continent in the setting that will not be featured in Call of the Netherdeep. The continent of Wildemount (featured in Explorer's Guide to Wildemount) and the continent of Marquet (which will be detailed for the first time in Call of the...

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

Honestly that's the only thing in the entire series so far that has bugged me.

D&D 5E (2014) Call of the Netherdeep: marketing has begun, screenshots thread

For that to be the case this adventure would need to either take place after the currently-running Campaign 3 (which is set 7 years after the end of Campaign 2), or some kind of time travel shenanigans must have occurred. Seeing as she's a Water Genasi instead of a Tiefling, I'm leaning towards...

D&D 5E (2014) Call of the Netherdeep: marketing has begun, screenshots thread

I'm really excited for this one. Far Realm + the deep ocean makes so much sense that I can't believe it hasn't been done before now.

D&D 5E (2014) WizKids D&D Icons of the Realm Gargantuan Tarrasque miniature coming Dec 2022

I've bought the most recent minus for Orcus and Baphomet, as well as the Sapphire Dragon and the Purple Worm. A lot of those were around 80 bucks, and I'm determined to use them in a campaign. These $500 figures are too expensive for me to justify buying considering there will be very few...

D&D General What Happens if a Cleric/Warlock/etc PC Gravely Offends Their Supernatural Patron?

I just remembered Deathlocks are a thing, so I imagine one possible punishment for a Warlock is to become a Deathlock if they die.

D&D General What Happens if a Cleric/Warlock/etc PC Gravely Offends Their Supernatural Patron?

I added that option to the results if anyone cares to change their vote.

D&D General What Happens if a Cleric/Warlock/etc PC Gravely Offends Their Supernatural Patron?

The thread title and poll question are fairly self-explanatory, so I'll go ahead and state my own position. Personally, as a DM I am very much against taking away a spellcasting PC's powers. The way I run things, a PC who offends their supernatural patron retains their powers, but at a price...

D&D General Do You Run Published Adventures, Homebrew Adventures, or Some of Both?

I also personally do a lot of deep diving into D&D lore to use for my sessions and want to incorporate ways to use it. For example, in researching Orcus I just found what is possibly the only reference to another servant of his allegedly on par with Doresain called Vermiturge (the source is...

D&D General Do You Run Published Adventures, Homebrew Adventures, or Some of Both?

Since I started DMing back around 2007 I have only run one published adventure, the one that came with the 3.5 Beginner's Box. I've bought and looked at plenty of published adventures, and sometimes I've thought about running them as is, but so far I always end up choosing to make things harder...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Lore Changes: Multiversal Focus & Fey Goblins of Prehistory

I believe 4E there was at least one reference to the final Paizo era Dungeon Magazine adventure path, Savage Tide, having occurred some time in the last century. EDIT: Found it in the 4E Demonomicon: It then goes on to say that Demogorgon eventually was reformed by the Abyss itself, defeated...

D&D General Joe Manganiello’s group now WizKids miniatures

Has anything been said about Manganiellos's campaign? Is it set in the Dragonlance setting, a homebrew setting, etc? Is it the home world of Arkhan the Cruel?

D&D General Dealing With Monsters Nonviolently (Weaknesses, Special Bribes, etc)?

I decided to update the thread title to better convey my purpose for it. The nereid from Tales From the Yawning Portal has this particular trait: For another water creature, the water weird has this in its 5E lore: I'm a fan of spells that are more situational (like purify food and drink)...

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

In the original streaming show, IIRC, Showing that in the animated series might have helped sell them as more capable, but it also would have eaten up time and gotten rid of an opportunity for the whole group to react to the sudden appearance of an imposing variety of foe.

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

Huh. The only 4Eism I'd noticed other than the pantheon is the existence of residuum (the all-purpose magic item-making dust from 4E). Do you have a source saying Keyleth used Roots of Rescue? I'm genuinely curious if they're going to mine anything else from 4E to use.
