Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 5th Edition Is Coming in 2026

I’m sorry that’s just not true. The player of the Rat Catcher-Scryer-River Warden was new to WFRP. The sign posts are decided by what happens in the story not some arbitrary path that the rules tell you have to take. They switched to scryer because they developed an affinity for the magic items...

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 5th Edition Is Coming in 2026

I think you’ve been cruelly misinformed if you think these are my adjustments and not 4e. All these quotes are from the CRB. 4e is the most flexible career system to date. Far more sensible than making me take a set convoluted path to play the character I want. Flexibility for those that want it...

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 5th Edition Is Coming in 2026

Dude. I’ve been playing WFRP for 30 years, and have four campaigns running for 4e. You don’t need to D&D-splain me. In one of those campaigns, I have a spy-ex artist, a witch hunter-ex nun, a watchmen-ex sentry. My three year enemy within campaign has Noble, ex knight of the white wolf, ex...

D&D General Forgotten Realms Book preview from NYCC

I’m seriously considering running Elminster as a standard mage (if a lecherous one) with a very good PR firm and a flair for the dramatic to make himself seem grander than he is. Almost wizard of oz like. Definitely an illusionist specialist wizard.

D&D General Is this use of a wizard's spellbook accurate?

The section in copying a spells into the wizards spell book doesn’t specify wizard because it’s in the wizard section and only wizards have spellbooks. It doesn’t need to specific anything else because it’s a description of a rule for wizards. When it comes to multi-classing you might have a...

D&D General Is this use of a wizard's spellbook accurate?

Not technically true either. You can’t prepare a spell just because you have slots for it.

There is a really good trilogy about them, Evereska and Myth Drannor. The Summoning, The Siege and The Sorcerer. It’s got some pretty epic moments. One of the best series in the FR. Worth a read or listen I think.

It did move, as described in the awful 3e era Computer game, the adventure book and novel. It was pretty dire.

Why? Why is the option for progression bad? You can still bounce from one career to Judicial Champion if that’s what you want provided it makes sense in the game. No one is stopping you playing that way if you want. It’s explicitly set out in the rules. I much prefer it to the very arbitrary...

D&D General The Beautiful Mess of 5e

I thought it was a really interesting chat delivered in a really nice conversational style. I was definitely surprised that Mike only adds 70% damage when estimating the extra damage from something being AOE. That feels extraordinarily low.

D&D General Is this use of a wizard's spellbook accurate?

It is absolutely a thing in BG3 - a very common one. It’s probably been misunderstood from there as many BG3 players in forums seem to think it’s a true translation of the rules. Absolutely not in 5e 2024 as has been mentioned. Copying a spell requires you to be be able to prepare the spells...

D&D General The Beautiful Mess of 5e

That’s not quite true because unless they are on their own or every foe fails the save they can be brought round very quickly. Not only that if you want to then attack them they are then back in room. So it’s not quite as simple as that.
