D&D General Forgotten Realms Book preview from NYCC

Dagger Dale has got a real Sherwood Forest theme going on. With the Zhentarim backed constable in the town of Dagger Falls and Randal Morn’s freedom fighters out in the forests. There is a great little trilogy set during the conflict.

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 5th Edition Is Coming in 2026

Game has changed a lot since then though. Including most of the things the Cap had beef with. Hence the need for an updated core I guess.

More independent minded. No city states large villages and towns all autonomous. Largely agrarian. Everyone defends their lands. The temperaments of the various dales varies somewhat. The chafe under direct rule.

Looks like Pool of Radiance? What location/Part of the game is that?

D&D General Forgotten Realms Book preview from NYCC

That link doesn’t work for me but this is from Lost Empires of Faerun. Not all have them but they can exist. IIRC from Pool of Radiance there is a gem or a number of gems that act as control mechanisms for Myth Drannors mythall. But that was a pretty lousy product linked to the computer game.

It’s parts of the wrecked city of shade. Has the same shapes and design aesthetic as Ythryn The mythal isn’t a physical entity it’s an invisible bubble of magic.

D&D General Forgotten Realms Book preview from NYCC

Had a good read, by screenshotting the video. I’m sure others can do it better but it was enough to get a good glimpse. Myth Drannor restored to its former ruined glory: That section hits all the 2ed buttons - the Onnaglym, broken malfunctioning mythal, temple of moonbow, castle cormanthor...

D&D General Forgotten Realms Book preview from NYCC

The cult of the Dragon have always had a big presence in the Dales. I would be surprised if there wasn’t a reference.

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 5th Edition Is Coming in 2026

I would say that is the best value RPG product I’ve ever seen. It’s rules lite because it’s a starter set so unlikely to be much affected by the new system. The gazetteer of Ubersreik is amazing. The adventure is a lot of fun and lasted my paid group 5 x 3 hour sessions. The handouts are...

Great game. Played several times at a friends and played a lot on iPad. Can finally get a solid copy now!

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 5th Edition Is Coming in 2026

very excited. If it’s backwards compatible to the same extent as D&D 2024 5e then I’ll be a happy bunny. Most of the splat books are careers, equipment, Endeavours etc rather than talents. They’re going to provide a guide to adjusting such things. Could be soon though. Im expecting draft pdf in...

Do you "roleplay" in non-TTRPG Games?

In all seriousness it might do. Whether I act it out or just narrate the menacing behaviour how I choose to roleplay the character could absolutely cause the party to make different decisions. So I would suggest it could have an impact.

Who says it was funny. I do a very accurate and menacing Ozy explorer! 😜

Do you "roleplay" in non-TTRPG Games?

It depends by your definition of Roleplay… If it’s a broad definition ‘take control of and make choices as it you were a different person’ then we do that with lots of board games. Any board game that has players taking defined characters that behaves different because of their character...

D&D General Gaining spell slots (and other resources) during the fight

WFRP 4e has something called Advantage that builds up through successful actions. It might come from successfully attacking but they might also include trying to get a read on your opponent, surveying the battlefield or trying to bluff or intimidate your foe. There are two optional ways of...

D&D General Settings of Hope vs Settings of Despair

Using that standard I also stand firmly into the middle. Though to be honest I apply that to all settings including Forgotten Realms and Eberron. I think it largely comes down to how you play your NPCs. I prefer to think that everyone considers their kind of people ‘good people’ and that most...

    D&D 5E (2024) Foundry Support

Woohoo! If those three come out with a couple of months of book release with full Foundry integration I will be a happy bunny.

Yeah I don’t use D&D beyond. I’m hopeful that the best selling products could come across hence Tasha and Tomb of Annihilation. Curse of Strahd and a few others doesn’t seem unreasonable but we’ll see.
