D&D General Best dragon-related adventure (any edition)

thanks but I meant adventures centred around the dragon rather than ones with a dragon tucked in a chamber somewhere. However, I had forgotten about some of these definitely and am looking at all options...

D&D General Best dragon-related adventure (any edition)

Have adapted DL1 (Dragons of Despair) to 5e and really enjoyed it (having stripped the railroading aspect out of it). Have pondered what to do next and browsed through all 5e dragon-related adventures from WOTC and felt nonplussed. Throwing it out there (I got a great recommendation of Glacier...

5E: Converting Monsters from White Dwarf Magazine for Fifth Edition

Been busy but while busy been pondering this - just having a spirit griffon that fights just like a griffon but is a spirit isn't very memorable. Ths was why I was thinknig of something that plays differently in combat. Like a spirit-giant-eagle with that can be a scout and roving attacker...

Still musing on names - did you have any particular spells in mind for the spellcasters? Maybe a name related to that... Maybe "warhawk" as they can summon bloodhawks? or giant eagles? or a group of five of them can summon a roc?

Actually am thinking they are sort of...battle druids? Something more priestly or sorcerous than scholarly mages? (thinking some sort of nomadic Scythian spellcaster)

5E: Converting Monsters from White Dwarf Magazine for Fifth Edition

Agree that alot of words is unwieldy OK CR 4 guy ---> Gallant Boss-type with spellcasting --> Warhawk PS: this CR 2 version was more in line with my orginal idea so yeah

5E: Converting Monsters from White Dwarf Magazine for Fifth Edition

Yes I was thinking of CR 2 to begin with for a rider, so renaming the CR 4 version "champion" is good, and maybe giving it some bonus action/reaction in that case. Maybe the CR 4 one is "Griffin Gallant"? My idea for a wizardlike one was a mix of fighter and spellcaster - like a rune knight or...

5E: Converting Monsters from White Dwarf Magazine for Fifth Edition

Looks good - regarding Scythian Marksmanship, 5e seems to frown on plusses like this. I'd reword as "double proficiency bonus" and thus give it +2...? Leap of the lion #5 maybe? Yeah a magicky one is a good idea

Amiraspi Cyclops (issue is there is alot of formatting text that makes pasting actions annoying as I lose all the coding) Amiraspi Cyclops Chief Amiraspi Cyclops, Young Amiraspian Pondering with griffon rider whether lance+scimitar or spear (both melee/thrown)
