D&D General When We Were Wizards: Review of the Completed Podcast!

People didn't like Kevin Blume, but one thing I learned was that Brian and Doug Blume both seemed popular with staff.

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Review of the Completed Podcast!

Thanks for the excellent review, @Snarf Zagyg! I've enjoyed this series tremendously, and looked forward to every Sunday, when the new episode dropped. Like Snarf, I'm an RPG history junkie. What this series did was humanize many of the other characters in the Gygax story, in a way that perhaps...

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Trailer for the Podcast

I was chatting with one of the producers, and they hope to turn this into a film:

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Trailer for the Podcast

I've enjoyed the podcast greatly. It complements the more academic histories by giving a lot of the personal stories. I've especially enjoyed hearing from Mary Jo. One thing that has come up several times in the series is how likeable a guy Brian Blume was. The Blumes have tended to be...

    Dragon Reflections #77

I have the CDs. I’ve long since copied the pdf files to my hard drive, but I think it was easy to extract them

    D&D General Looking for D&D Play-By-Post Tips

By "Us > Them" I guess you mean that the PCs always go first?

    D&D General Looking for D&D Play-By-Post Tips

I'm thinking about running a game of D&D play-by-post, most likely in discord. If you have any tips, I'd be very happy to hear them.

D&D General Another 100 Amazing Links for Dungeon Masters

Every week, I email out a list of ten cool D&D-related links, mostly aimed at helping Dungeon Masters improve their game. Here is a compilation of lists #111 through #120, containing 100 links in total. There is a heroes feast of great material here. You can find lots of other link compilations...

D&D General Monster Threat Profile - need a better name than striker

I'm working on an article that discusses the interplay between offensive capability (damage) and defensive capability (AC/hit points). I'm calling this a creatures "threat profile" though I'm happy to hear alternative suggestions. I've created a quadrant graph and I'd really like a better name...

    Dragon Reflections #76

That's a good enough recommendation for me - I've added it to my kindle queue. It helps that it is short (I mostly read books under 200 pages at the moment). Looking at wiki, it seems that R.A. MacAvoy has returned to writing recently after a long absence.

Agreed. They are both looking up with a peaceful expression on their faces, like they are in chapel or something. In terms of the hair sprouting from the helmet, it only makes sense if it is a "plume" made of horsehair or something.

    Dragon Reflections #76

I was wondering that the other day. You do have things like Deadlands and Haunted West, but they are very much a weird/horror take. I can only guess it's because the Western is so out of fashion these days. Honestly, it's not clear to be me how well Boot Hill sold - they didn't publish much...

TSR The Dreams in Gary's Basement

I ended up buying it from the website and enjoyed it thoroughly. Not much new information, but it was nice to hear from so many of Gary's friends, and also lots of historical footage I hadn't seen before.
