D&D General Dnd and what has changed

Hmmmm well you used to roll your characters, now you build your charachters. Plus some other things, but that would be my top change in philosophy of the game.

Your top 5 sci-fi movies (and why)

The Black Hole made my list. I still have the pop up box from the 80s and let my kids read it.

Do you "roleplay" in non-TTRPG Games?

100% every Risk block gets a back story, my slum lord top hat has charachter goals in monopoly, and my inspector gets a funny voice and mannerisms in Clue.

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 5th Edition Is Coming in 2026

I bought the whole Enemy Within campaign re-release, but none of the actual rules books. So I guess im glad this is compatible? I live in a fantasy world were someone else is going to run this campaign for me so I haven't even read the book yet, lol.

    Accountability thread for Squarecrawl 2025

I live near Seattle and I would trade a chance for the Mariners to go to the world series just for one update on Squarecrawl.

Your top 5 sci-fi movies (and why)

Back in the 90s I worked at Blockbuster and we could only show G rated movies during the day. We'll for some unknown reason Planet of The Apes was rated G so I played this non stop till it was late enough to switch to the Goonies.

Your top 5 sci-fi movies (and why)

Road Warrior: the action, the lack of words, the subtle world building, moraly Grey protagonist. Fury Road: see above Star Wars: the first films paints a picture that lets your imagination fill in the gaps. The more they filled in the gaps the less I liked it. Black Hole: saw it as a kid so...

D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

Ok, so do female dwarves have beards? No a way we can take over D&D without solving that clearly laid out in the rules.

    Your Three Desert Island RPGs

Im stuck on dessert island, so I got a lot of time to kill? Heroes System: Making a charachter burns a week. Phoenix Comand: Two rounds of combat, that's what we call a Tuesday. Vampire the Masquerade: you know what lets play out the hundred and ten years since you were turned into a vampire...

Who's on your geek Mount Rushmore?

Dungeons & Dragons Reveals Two New Spells That Will Appear in Forgotten Realms Books

One is a 20ft radius sphere, one is a 20ft radius and 20 ft high cylinder. Im not a 5e area of effect expert, so is there any mechanical differences it those?

    D&D General Should you Multiclass?

If you have the stats Dual Class is better than Multi Class. You wont fall behind in level gain by much and you gain some great versatility. Start as a fighter until you have at least 4 or 5 levels of them sweet Hit Points and weapon specializations and then move to Thief or Wizard. Honestly 3...

AD&D 2E Can anyone give me a rundown on Red Steel and other obscure D&D settings not mentioned in this video?

TSR did a whole line of historical settings. The HR series, or the green books. Short softbound books. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/16912/hr1-vikings-campaign-sourcebook-2e

AD&D 1E XP Value for Monsters?

I just gave up when I was running 1e and used the XP totals for a monster they assigned in 2e. Modules for 2e sometimes have xp values for NPCs so I would crib those for a 5th level wizard or something. I know that doesn't help, but I didn't have the patience to math everything out and took...

D&D General Chef feat should be an origin feat

I guess to be a real chef you have to live through some battles? I mean working in a kitchen is probably higher stress than most 5e combat situations. So yeah level 4 makes perfect sense.
