Spoilers Hey look, there's a new Robin Hood show coming with Sean Bean as the Sheriff!

Looks about like all the other robin hood I've seen, ok but missing something Everyone knows Robin Hood reached perfection in 1973. Turns out all an old English legend needed was some down home American honkey tonk songs to make it a classic.

    Paizo Pathfinder Quest

I was semi pumped for this hoping for a Pathfinder Lite, but then I watched the actual play video and saw it used custom d6s and lost all interest.

D&D 5E (2024) [Let's Read] Sands of Doom: a D&D Sandbox where you fight an army of Fantasy Egyptian Gnolls!

Thats a lot of lore. The Adventure better be top notch if it wants me to learn all of that.

RPG Duets Best Practices and Pitfalls?

I did a long 1e Duets game and having a few NPC side kicks really helped. I let the player run them in combat ( not hard in 1e to run multiple charachters) and I would role play them out of combat. One thing I found is that with only one player the game moves faster. No pauses while a group...

Pathfinder 1E I’ve Forgotten How to Play Pathfinder

I feel you. I have played Pathfinder a few time, but the idea of learning it feels like work.

D&D 5E (2024) How do you run an open table game in D&D '24?

I like this rule, but because 5e combat is so drawn out exploring takes a lot more real world time and you going to get a lot of 15 minute adventuring days. Also because players know they have to go back to town at the end of each session they are going to burn thier "once per long rest"...

D&D General What alignment are you?

Netural Good with lawful tendencies. I obey the law or rules most of the time because it is for the common good, but im not opposed to breaking them for the greatest good. Except when I've had a few drinks then definitely Chaotic Neutural with good tendencies.

D&D General The rapier in D&D

Yeah a Str 3 Dex 18 fighter should win a old fashined knife fight versus a Str 18 Dex 14 fighter but statistically they will.

D&D 5E (2024) Using Action Surge to cast spells in 2024

I'll give some love to the rules lawyer. It definitely isn't in the spirit of the rules, but they didn't let that stop them and they found a loophole. Bravo. Never give up. Now that said I wouldn't allow it, but i can appreciate it.

D&D General Monster Importance in Homebrews?

I build the setting around "what are cool.adventure sites" and I build adventure sites around "what are cool.momsters" so very important. Plus i like to limit the monsters to less types of monster but each is more developed and tied to the setting. So maybe I only have Goblins and Orcs as the...

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

Ball bearings for 1gp, the same price as a ale, is the real sign its a post industrial age setting. When you can mass produce small metal balls you have arrived. The fact you call them ball bearings implies that you have machinery advanced enough to need them. Maybe "marbles" would have been...

D&D General Kitchen sink setting or narrow genre focus for long-running campaigns (2,5,10+ years)

I do a focused setting. A regional sandbox that is well developed. Fill it with romours and adventure sites and let the party lose. Good for 2 to 3 years of play.
