    NCAA: Dayton Flyer love?

About all I know about them is that my GW Colonials downed them over the weekend... Of course, we followed that up with a horrible loss to St. Joseph's... :(

MD-DC-VA Gaming Day Game Signup! New Games Added

Okay, sign me up for Table 5 HARP with Rasyr in the afternoon. Good selection of games available, though. :D

    How high have you started?

I once played in a game that started at 10th level, solely because we wanted to try out 3E at higher levels. I much prefer starting at 1st and going through, as I like the build-up to the "maximum fun" range of 5th-12th level. I think, were I to run a game again, I'd try and slow down...

    Divisions of Magic

I believe I did something like that for those spells that didn't otherwise fit into my dividers. I can't remember specifics anymore, as this was 8 or 9 years ago now. I do recall putting invocation/evocation spells into the "Fire" school for the most part. But I did try and make elemental...

    GURPS vs. Harp

I can vouch for that. I haven't had so much gaming in quite some time! I'm hoping to get in on some more HARP action this next time round. I think everyone has already covered the basics. We had a table of newbs and combat was not a long and tedious affair; it's pretty easy to do the math...

    Divisions of Magic

Back in my 2E days I once redid the schools of magic into elemental schools: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Life and Death. It wasn't totally elegant, but I thought it was pretty cool and it was perfect for my homebrew at the time.

    Very funny cartoon

I believe the 'Martyr' class, from BoED, IIRC, might be a better fit. ;)

MD-DC-VA Gaming Day: Calling all GMs

Hoi, Chummers! Fragged! DM: AIM-54 (Jeremiah Cushman) Morning GAME: Shadowrun 3rd Edition TEASER: Just another day in the shadows, chummer. If it’s not the Man stompin’ us down, just means Mother Nature picks up the slack. This one was supposed to be a standard extraction job. The Johnson...

Homebrew - Where Do You Start?

I usually have some sort of idea for a world (such as a desert world or post-apocalypse or something like that) that then determines how I go about building it. I really like maps, so I tend to then go into designing the continent or whatever the major landmass(es) for that particular world is...

whats your favorite stat, if you had all 13's and 1 18, where would the 18 go?

Of course it depends on what class I'm itching to play, but I always have to have decent to high dex (I love the sneaky/quick fighter/rogue types), so I voted Dex.

    battletech

Of course that's a matter of opinion, but my group never could get real traction with it. :\ I haven't played 2nd edition in years and years, but the combat system just seems overly complex in 3rd (and I usually have no problems with complexity!). We only really got going running it using...

    battletech

Well, first I'd recommend FanPro's Official BattleTech Site to start off. I haven't really played the game since before FASA went under, so I can't give you much more than that. Love the table top system and the universe, especially some of the horrendous amount of detail that goes into some...

    Happy Independence Day to Estonia

The February 24 date is the one that Estonia celebrates as its independence day, however, at least partly because of the belief that Estonia was an occupied country during the Cold War (the US, in fact, did not officially recognize Soviet control over the Baltic States and maintained unofficial...

    Are knowledge skills worth it?

We've seen a pretty constant and important use of knowledge skills, especially as we've been forced to maneuver between various religious and political organizations as we've grown in level. Not to mention figuring out various magical effects and whatnot. It's been pretty key to our...

MD-DC-VA Gaming Day: Calling all GMs

Haven't been on the boards for awhile, really, so I'm coming to this kinda late. I'm interested in running a Shadowrun game, probably the morning session since that's where all the slots are. :p If there is interest, of course. ;) I'm still developing the run, but I'll have something for...

Ashy and I were just in a train crash!

Yeah Green line! Seriously, glad to hear you're all right. It's really weird that there were two such subway accidents in two days...Aeolius caught the Red Line crash that occurred at Woodley Park (which is the stop nearest to the BU Washington Program building, where I spent a semester a...

OOC Kingdom of Ashes IV - Who's yo' daddy?

Exactly right. My thought is that given the long hiatus between now and our next session, we don't need to rush things. We can take the time to list current issues, prioritize them and then plan them. Right now, we're in the prioritize phase, because everyone seems to agree on the list I...

OOC Kingdom of Ashes IV - Who's yo' daddy?

Whee! Look at the sparks fly! :) Anyway, I think at this point it might be a good idea to sit down and come up with a list of the major things we want to do, prioritize them and then go about planning/undertaking them. All in the move forward state of mind, as I agree with Kennon's point...
