The 2025 Pumpkin Spice RPG Contest Submissions

Huh. According to the official press release, the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is now made with real pumpkin? I guess the haters will have to find a new punchline.

The 2025 Pumpkin Spice RPG Contest Submissions

And of course, as soon as I submit something, ten thousand new ideas pop into my head. ~sigh Maybe I'll keep the dragon, maybe I'll replace it with something even cooler...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Psychic powers? Pff. If my players' behavior is any indicator, snorting bard ashes will give you delusions of competency, and everyone else a headache.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Snarf, if your Pumpkin Spice RPG contest entry doesn't include bards (or bard ashes), I'm gonna be sad.

    IRON DM 2023 Tournament Thread

Hello there, fellow creatives! I am resurrecting this thread for a brief moment to let the Iron DMs and judges know about another creative writing contest here at EN World: the Pumpkin Spice RPG contest! I should explain. You know how this time of the year, everything seems to be "pumpkin...

The 2025 Pumpkin Spice RPG Contest Submissions

Just a heads--up, the deadline is only 11 days away! Don't wait too long to get your entry posted to this thread. We've got only one entry at the moment but 5 prizes to win... I'm just sayin', the odds of getting a prize look pretty good at the moment. ;)

D&D General The rapier in D&D

Mmm, yes, rapiers are very easy to delete. It's the howls of outrage, hours-long debates, and constant whining from the other side of the DM screen that prove a little harder to remove. :cautious: I've learned to just roll with it. Most recently, I renamed them as "cutlasses" and nobody...

What constitutes a "hit" in your mind?

Every now and then, whenever a character scores a "hit" on a target, or when their character gets "hit" by an opponent, I will ask the player to describe it for the table. I don't do this all the time, just every so often to get the players' input on the narrative. And not always in D&D...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Eh, not necessarily. I put that sort of thing back on the players. In my campaigns, if the heroes are fighting some enemies that might have post-combat consequences (like NPC guards or bandits or whatever), I run the battle as normal and once the enemies are defeated, I'll ask the players to...

D&D General The rapier in D&D

Me, as a DM: Another rapier, how original. (eyeroll) Let me guess, high dexterity and a two-level dip of spellcaster, too? Me, as a player: Yeah so my next character has a high dex and a two-level dip of spellcaster, so I'm going with the rapier... I'm not sure how that can be fixed...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I know right? That's why I decided to post mine now, typos and all, instead of waiting any longer. I know myself pretty well, and I could tell that with the way this month was going? I was either going to miss the deadline entirely, or I was going to end up posting something at the very last...
