Who has OGL books sitting in the warehouse for sale? I want to prioritize what to buy.

I backed this, and because I was inattentive, I accidentally bought a POD copy, also. If anyone is considering this, get the printed copy! The printed copy is gorgeous, high quality print and glossy paper, ribbon bookmark. MUCH nicer than the POD version.

This is professional conduct and its most.... conducty.

D&D 5E (2014) How will the recent OGL developments affect your D&D spending?

It's difficult to say for sure. Official? Probably less, but I've always been a pick&choose sort. 3PP? Probably less just because it seems there will BE less to buy. I've mentioned this elsewhere, but during the pandemic my KS use went WAY up. And a huge amount of that is 5th ed stuff. And of...

D&D 5E (2014) Do you ACTUALLY use 3rd Party Books?

I have backed a lot of KS projects and bought a fair amount of stuff on DriveThru/DMs Guild. Really a lot. I haven't used every bit, but I've used 3rd party rules, classes, subclasses, other options, monsters, setting stuff (heck, my main D&D is the Tal'Dorei setting), magic items, ancestries...

RPG Evolution - True Tales from Stranger Things: The Satanic Panic Comes to School

To be fair, "like it was the bible" was HER comparison, but I did spend a lot of timer making those early "Sci-Fi Dungeons."

D&D General The D&D We Played in 2022

I've been mostly a remote player for 25 years, and exclusively since the Pandemic began. Continued my ongoing 5e Tal'Dorei series, three sessions a week, three different groups, one world. Started a new 5e, homebrew world/experiment. PCs are discovering a lost realm which I have detailed, but...

RPG Evolution - True Tales from Stranger Things: The Satanic Panic Comes to School

I only had mild brushes. 1979, my father says "Check out this cool game I bought for your friend for his birthday." A month later, I was hooked on D&D. Later, my mom asked about the game with some odd, leading questions. (Child of divorce, here; so all my conversations were with one or the...

Dungeon! the boardgame that presaged Dungeons and Dragons is 50 years old!

No... I might have the platform wrong, but it was def some relation to or inspired by Dungeon. It had a board, and you moved along it, drew cards.... Maybe on an Apple? That would make it newer than I'm remembering.... but before about 30 years ago all memories bleed into one for me. :p

Dungeon! the boardgame that presaged Dungeons and Dragons is 50 years old!

I used to play a computer game based around this.... but this was ages ago.... I think on my dad's TRS-80? Or maybe an early 8088? But I've never owned or played the board game.

D&D General Do you want a 3D vtt?

I don't even want a 2D tabletop. The only reason I use Roll20 is no-one wants to play on IRC anymore.

    D&D 5E (2014) Your 5E Library

Too many to list. Sticking with WotC and Critical Role... Regrets: See if you can guess! :) I probably have about twice as many from other third party, mainly kickstarters. I might not use some, but I regret none. If we expand to include PDF (paid, not free).... maybe 5 times as many? I've...

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Permanently Removes The Term 'Race'

Like others here, I don't like the word they picked, but I agree with the removal of "race." I have been and will continue to use "Ancestry."

Campaigns in a nutshell. Adventures in a sentence.

The PCs are part of a traveling circus. The circus is a legit circus that entertains folk across the land. But it's also home to a group of mercenaries and thieves for hire, who do the job their boss finds as they travel. All sorts find their way here. We do the jobs and between PCs have a...

Costs of a kickstarter project (transparency)

I think it's because the KS platform isn't their primary mode of communicating. I've had similar issues with Monte Cook Games, but then their direct emails and discord keep me updated. Not ideal - I think a KS project should get regular updates on the KS platform - but enough to keep me...

Costs of a kickstarter project (transparency)

OP Posted his... uh... OP in his KS Updates too, and I loved it. Do I care about the nuts and bolts of making something from nothing? Well... kinda. As an aspiring never-work-up-the-nerve-to-put-myself-out-there, I find the details of the process interesting. But what I really appreciate is the...

RPG Evolution: Older Than You Look

This has come up a lot in my current game. The relatively young elf who is already starting to have her heart harden... beginning to see why her people are such isolationist jerks. Barely 120, she's seen so many friends pass. She's met her first love... a boy of 16 when she first met him, now a...

    Grognard view of One D&D?

I guess technically speaking I'm a grognard. I never fully understood the appellation though. I'm old. I played D&D and AD&D1e when they were new. Does that automatically make me a Grognard? D&D lost me in 2e. Part of this was the mess that was their core books. Part of this was all the kitchen...

RPG Crowdfunding News – The Weird, Wastes of Chaos, Coyote & Crow, and more

Darn it, Egg!!!! Have you no sympathy for my wallet at all???? Now, The Weird and the new Historica Arcanum I was already in. I'm a Certified Monte Cook Drooling Fanboy, and I love the first Historica Arcanum book A LOT, so had to grab that one. But you, Egg, are responsible for all the...

Use Your Old CCGs To Power Your RPGs

I've been doing this for years. Heck, almost the only use I've gotten out of CCGs has been props in my RPGs. In 1997, I attended my one and only GenCon. I hit Atlas' booth, and they had this deal on "On the Edge" cards. And the guy was telling about this game. I'd played and loved "Over the...

RPG Crowdfunding News – HEROES OF CERULEA, Deadlands, Starlight Arcana, and more

Me too. I've basically been all in on everything they've done for the Numenera RPG, or the Cypher brand. The system still give me minor fits (My stats are my resource! Must... hoard....), but the setting fluff, the worldbuilding, the gonzo "One Billion Years..." I love it.
