    D&D 5E (2014) Concentration: Addressing Player Concerns

It was poor writing if they didn't mean it was per hit. The language suggests clearly it is per hit in my opinion. Rolling per hit is the same as per source of damage. The arrows don't attack by themselves, for example. It would say the shooter or the dragon, not the arrow or the dragon.

    D&D 5E (2014) Treasure Rolls & "a typical campaign"

1st Edition gave you magic item prices in the core rules, from day 1 if memory serves. 2nd Edition tried to take the magic items are rare approach, but eventually published the prices. Not even 3rd Edition assumed magic item shops. They wrote them into town descriptions, but they still...

    Is D&D "Rubbish"?

First Edition Feel: Why Is This a Good Thing?

There was nothing negative about 1st Edition in my opinion. The game was a work of art.

    D&D 5E (2014) Low magic player characters in D&D 5e

A suggestion I made during the playtest was to make the full spell-casting classes take their first five levels in something else. That way, at 6th level you start introducing magic like 1st level, and 15th level is the maximum level. You can make it even harder, but I don't know what to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Concentration: Addressing Player Concerns

I would like that better. It keeps it the same for everyone and makes the game much faster.

Try bringing the DC down to 5 or one-fourth of the damage done by an attack, whichever is higher.

    D&D 5E (2014) Treasure Rolls & "a typical campaign"

AD&D did have magic item shops. I understand your concern. I had a player once who demanded to be able to buy a magic item. This was more than discussed during the playtest, so if the DMG doesn't have the rules for magic item shops Wizards of the Coast has no excuse. Maybe half or more of...

D&D 5E (2014) can warlocks be good guys?

Thank you for the information. I recommend you use alignment, and alignment restrictions for such character classes as the warlock, paladin, and ranger. The warlock only has to be evil if he or she knowingly makes a pact with an evil patron. I'd rather not have to criticize the language used in...

D&D 5E (2014) can warlocks be good guys?

Does it give their alignments? My PHB just says their names. Most sound pretty bad, and some of the worst of the worst are there. Even under archfey, hags are mentioned, and they are evil.

    Which patrons are not evil?

D&D 5E (2014) Is this guy legally publishing 5e stuff?

They should just ask him to change the language if it's a problem, but everyone knows what the other companies mean by fifth edition to the world's most popular role playing game. They have stirred interest in this, and it will increase the game's circulation.

So, you go by the book.

D&D 5E (2014) can warlocks be good guys?

If he knows the patron is evil, it makes him evil. It is an evil act just to make that pact.

You must be mistaken. Give us quotes if you can. I'd like to see where it says that.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the Roles now?

I wouldn't look to 4th Edition to provide the same kind of D&D as any other edition. It was a great game for what it set out to do. I can't say what I think that is without upsetting people, though.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the Roles now?

I'm pretty sure Mr. Gygax would have said no, but sandbox may be a modern term and it can depart from his advice.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the Roles now?

Even in a sandbox the DM has a lot of responsibility. Encounters should be kept down to within a certain level range.
