    How do you handle evil?

Often the situation is that one person in the group wants to play an evil PC when the others are not. Sometimes then you might hear "I'm just playing my character" when evil deeds are done dirt cheap, with an expectation that the other characters cannot act against the evil one because they're...

Is there a D20 alternative to Dark Heresy?

There is Solar Blades and Cosmic Spells, an OSR game that in my opinion has a very WH40K-esque feel.

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

Bitcoins are unregulated. It is "known" that NFTs undergo what is called "wash trading" where an investor sells their NFT to themselves** to create the illusion of demand for their NFTs and also drives the price up. So given the volatility of Bitcoin prices is wash trading being done to keep...

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

Not unexpected from a guy whose income is from a platform that sells NFTs and has to sell a reason why one partner might have suspended planned drops (and perhaps implied they may exit permanently). Anything not positive might put Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt in customers and make them question the...

News Digest for the Week of February 18

Activist Hedge Fund? It appears they own 2.5% of Hasbro shares and want a big say at the table that will eventually net a big payout for them, no matter what it does to the company afterwards.

Is The One Ring 2E Kickstarter going to break the records?

You can use the Feat dice as is, just read "11" as "1" when you roll. But I too will get replacement dice with my Ruins of the Lost Realm order.

Is The One Ring 2E Kickstarter going to break the records?

The misprint is there is no number "1" (one) - it is "11" (eleven) and Feat die should not have "11". Feat die should number 1-10, and have two icons - Eye of Sauron, and Gandalf Rune

An Enemy Within Trailer and pending in depth guide.

There are plenty of new adventures as well. I am happy for The Enemy Within to be re-released because now I can have a hard-copy.

    TTRPGS, Blockchains, and NFTs

I think this is a prime example of what Dan Olsen mentioned he encountered in discords: big talk about the future value of the NFTs - they're all going to be swimming in money bins full of cryptocoins, so full that they'll be farting out enough change to buy M:TG.

    TTRPGS, Blockchains, and NFTs

Fear Of Missing Out, plus selling it as belonging to a club. All it takes is a few people to fall for the scam. And then those who do are desperate to convince others it's not a scam else all their money has gone.

    TTRPGS, Blockchains, and NFTs

The stupid thing is that you are buying proof of ownership of a thing, not ownership of the thing itself. And the thing? You want to show it to someone then the technology they use (usually a web browser) will create a copy of it on their device so they can view it.... so then they have...

Imperial Zoo - Oh what a bestiary!

I see TS Luikart was also writer for WFRP 2E’s Old World Bestiary.

Imperial Zoo - Oh what a bestiary!

I assume the weakness of Caledair, the Scythe of Fire is laughter because a creature with such a name would only end up dying of embarrassment when confronted by PCs.

Imperial Zoo - Oh what a bestiary!

Hmmm. There are a number of beasties with no rating in Grim. I assume that means the rating is 1. It was confusing reading the description of the trait Grim mentioning a Rating when the first creature with Grim had no rating. Only when I read Caledair, The Scythe of Fire who has Grim 3 did I...

Imperial Zoo - Oh what a bestiary!

My initial impression - a little disappointed the format of the book is different from the rest of 4E. I've grown fond of the grey background and the bronze/brown background of The Imperial Zoo makes it feel like it's not a WFRP 4E book to me.

An RPG-suitable method for crippling the Internet

If you have a modern day zombie crisis setting, then the power grids are likely to stop working sooner or later bringing down the internet just because zombies would be eating the people required to keep it going. Its demise might be hastened if a wealthy evil organization targeted a few...

An RPG-suitable method for crippling the Internet

Bring down the power. Your zombie-hideout might have its own power supply, but that won't help all those remote servers that are the internet if they don't. The internet relies on the communications network. Bring down a couple of local interchanges and the people in the area have lost access...

Let's Talk About Fantasy heartbreaks and other FRPGs

Looking up some of the forge commentary about the term "fantasy heartbreaker", yes I agree - D&D due to its popularity is the game most people seek to "improve" with their heartbreakers. But then who can forget the game/LARP Vampire: Undeath?
