How should it be written? How about... The book is nothing compared to the judgment of an empowered Dungeon Master. Don't let the rules stand between you and the game! You are the one in control.

Isn't D&D full of kludge? Like adding story telling to dungeon crawling? Or adding tactical options to long term resource management? Or adding economics to adventuring? Or adding anime to swords and socery?
