Instead of reading the DMG, new DMs would learn by watching Matt Mercer! That way, more space in the DMG could be used for the good stuff! Then again, why shouldn't Enworld be put in charge of teaching people how to DM?? I can think of no finer method!

May I suggest a world creation session(s) then? If you dislike railroading that much, then spending (up to) a dozen hours rolling dice, making tables, and filling out forms should be no problem? If you make a large/detailed enough world, a DM would have no need to railroad!

So one to two hundred dollars for a pre made sandbox setting should be no problem right??? I'm sure those players won't mind chipping in!

Enworlders complaining about the DMG is like people with PHDs complaining about pre school ciricumuim. Besides, we have a resource far greater any DMG; Enworld! No tome can match the wisdom, insight, and experience of Enworlders!
