Yes but we never really got the lore. Enough of a connection to justify a pet class but no idea as to why this came about (unless I missed something). It could be cool or not, I think the fuss is largely unwarranted but then I am not a fan of inviolable canon.

I am not sure what "All in" means in this context. It appears that there will be some connection between the order of the Purple Dragon Knights and amethyst dragons and that they will not be a pet class, but I do not know that it warrants the fuss being made. Maybe it does or then again perhaps not.

I have played in a long campaign and run games using it. Everyone needs to be at least on the free D&DBeyond subscription and next month the DM can use on the same subscription. I would love to see Tactical Adventures get a licence to port the PHB classes into their game but writing wise they are a fair distance from the needed standard.
