Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [OOC]

DO IT!! Edit: never mind my comment below. I thought you were talking about fireball. I see what you’re referring to now. There’s an Abstinence component?? What happens if you have Eschew materials? I think Tim has both protection and resist fire on him. I’m actually thinking this might be...

Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [OOC]

Sounds good. I’m going to reorganize it by character(instead of by spell) on my next post and I’m going to put it at the top of my post so people see it right away. IDEALLY people would track their buffs on their own posts so I don’t have to it for everyone.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

Does the spell, in its current version account for magical weapons??

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

This is a good point regarding being a better fighter than spellcaster but the description of the spell is still a misnomer even in that case. Why isn’t the fighter getting some insight?? He’s too dumb or not charismatic enough or wise enough to interpret the insights? In any case, to me, it’s...

Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [OOC]

Could people not do a full run? X4 movement if you’re unencumbered. im running on my turn. X3 movement puts me at the ladder (assuming I’m encumbered pulling the unconscious girl.) There’s no point double moving if you’re not in melee. On a side note: I have no idea if people are...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I actually agree with Max. It’s pretty weak sauce for “magical guidance”. If you pick it up as a fighter using Magic Initiate, you’d think the “Magical Guidance” of a spell called “True Strike” would actually help you make a melee attack(which you’re already pretty good at) more accurate...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

Those are spell attacks, not mundane melee attacks that use your Int stat. Without true strike, you make a melee attack. True strike doesn’t let you make a melee spell attack, it lets you make a melee attack but instead of strength or dex, you get a moment of insight which lets you use your...

Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [OOC]

@Knightfall I was reading the rules on sheathing unsheathing and you can draw a weapon as part of a move if your BAC is +1 but it’s a move action to sheath it. Meanwhile, you can sheath and unsheath a shield as part of a move if your BAC is +1. My plan for the next round is to drag or...

I had a friend who’d say, “cut off the horns, wipe its butt and put it on my plate”

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

it lets you use your casting stat to make a melee attack. Sounds like a buff to me.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

It gives advantage. I’m not sure how that helps you cast shield or enlarge person. If True Strike is a buff, then it can’t give you advantage. That’s how I read it anyways.

Level Up (A5E) Removing Pointless Death (+)

Do they get opportunities to retreat? I have a DM who TPKs groups and we are super careful about who and how we engage enemies and are ready to retreat if things are going poorly. Does your group even have a chance to realize things are going badly? Knowing when to retreat is a tricky balance

Level Up (A5E) Removing Pointless Death (+)

It’s a dialogue between the DM and the player. The thing to remember is even if you concede and maintain control of the narrative you still lose. Let’s say you are fighting ghouls and the stakes are character death. Meaning the ghouls will take an extra action to do a killing blow when you...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I was looking at produce flame. The target is ‘self’ but it specifically notes you make a spell attack - not a melee attack. The wording for true strike would have been better if they’d used that language: With a melee weapon, make a melee spell attack against an enemy. The weapon’s damage...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

Unlike a spell like fire bolt which targets an enemy, The range of true strike is “Self” so, no it doesn’t give you advantage to attack someone else. All the spell does is enhance your ability to attack by letting you attack with your spellcasting ability and change the damage to radiant if you...
