Sorlock Eldritch Blast vs. Draconic Sorcerer Firebolt

I disagree, actually, but only if you have an odd Charisma. It's enough of a damage boost that I would run it on every Tiefling sorcerer and I would start with 17 Charisma to use this feat. It adds an average of 3 damage to your fireball at level 5, to each target you hit. That's a decent...

Sorlock Eldritch Blast vs. Draconic Sorcerer Firebolt

I feel like it was a huge mistake to give the animated objects 20 HP each and 18 AC. If a monster could just smash an object in one swing it wouldn't be nearly as good, but with 20 HP and 18 AC it could take a monster a couple rounds to even kill one of the things. Also I think the best theme...

    D&D 5E (2014) Best Wizard and Cleric Subclasses (Level 1 to 10)

I'd say the best wizard subclass is Divination for portent, forcing enemies to fail their saving throws is a huge boon that allows you to make use of very powerful spells that are normally balanced by the fact they do nothing on a save. I've never played a cleric so can't really comment on them.

Sorlock Eldritch Blast vs. Draconic Sorcerer Firebolt

Plus the level 20 ability (which a sorlock can't get) is a good source of extra sorcery points. You also gain an extra ASI (probably +2 con, but could also be an extra feat) and you get your level 9 spell 2 levels earlier, and wish is incredibly strong. And hey, the sorcerer sure has a much...

Sorlock Eldritch Blast vs. Draconic Sorcerer Firebolt

While it's true that the actual damage isn't that much lower, doing 10 damage to one target is way more useful than doing 5 damage to 2 targets, even if you're actually fighting two targets. If you're trying to disable a monster through damage, the only damage that matters is that last point...

Can I take a second bonus action in place of my action during a round?

Combat has started, but you're more that 30 feet away from the enemy, which means even if you use all your movement you can't reach them and thus can't make a melee attack this turn, so instead you want to cast hex and activate hexblade's curse which both have long range.

How would you replicate a four elements monk conceptually using different classes?

The way of the four elements monk is one of my favourite builds conceptually, the idea of a martial artist who wields the powers of the elements to supplement their physical prowess. Unfortunately, the Monk of the Four Elements is extremely weak mechanically, with high Ki costs for mediocre...

    D&D 5E (2014) Changeling Arcane Trickster Optimization

I'd recommend at some point multiclassing into Bard (lore college). You get an extra skill from multiclassing and three more from the lore college bonus proficiency, plus an extra expertise at level 3. You can also gain access to Telekinesis (as well as any other spell you like) to manipulate...

Can I take a second bonus action in place of my action during a round?

Let's say I'm a Hexblade, and I have one round to cast support spells before the enemy is within reach. Ideally I want to cast hex on an enemy and then use Hexblade's Curse on that enemy. The issue is that both of those are bonus actions, and I'm not sure whether you can use your action to do...

Does anyone have any experience with running campaigns starting at level 0, or where the adventurers start as commoners?

Carriage is the wrong word. I'm talking about... a wheeled thing a horse drags behind. I'm not sure what that's called. A cart? A buggy?

Does anyone have any experience with running campaigns starting at level 0, or where the adventurers start as commoners?

I'm working on a campaign where the adventurers start as commoners, who are dropped in a forest full of danger when the carriage they were riding in is ransacked by werewolves. I want the players to start weaker than a first-level character would be, to reflect that fact that they're not really...

I'm looking for people's opinions on the most fun wizard possible

If you're using point buy or the standard array, the highest you can get a single stat to with a +2 bonus to it is 17, where with a +1 bonus you get 16. There's no difference, mechanically, between those two, and when you get an ASI you can increase a stat by two points (for +1 modifier)...
