    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

And Mystara was not originally a BECMI Setting: it was the Kent State shared home campaign for OD&D that Schenck, Cook, and Moldvay took into TSR with them when they graduated and got jobs together.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

I honestly don't see those tensions in amy of the Settings they have released, in the slightest, but Ravnica is largely original as presented in the book: Wyatt had to make most of it up, and again he also wrote the DMG. Take a gander at Ravnica sometime, it's a darned good book, and comes close...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

So in what ways does the Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica not do that...?

First Episode of The Mighty Nein Available Now on YouTube

Interestingly, episode 3 catches the cartoon up to the point where people usually recommend starting the game streams, once they hit their stride.

First Episode of The Mighty Nein Available Now on YouTube

For what it is worth, the basic plot and character material of the Mighty Nein campaign is actually much better, in my opinion. This show is likely going to be wild.

D&D 5E (2014) Vecna: Eve of Ruin Coming May 21st!

Vecna is set in Greyhawk for a large part of it, amd the DMG now has an extensive Hreyhawk gazateer in it.

D&D 5E (2024) D&D Nexus at Demiplane with WotC core books.

It does make more sense based on those numbers that were revealed recently about ho much monry WotC makes from OneBookShelf...which also owns both Roll20 and Demiplane. It also means more avenues for people to give WotC money, which matters more than having a monopoly.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

I like Rising from the Last War's explanation for the sudden proliferation of Dragonborn: most Humans still think they are Lizardfolk, cuz all them reptiles look the same. Handy, elegant, complete explanation.

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

If you run Exandria, most FR stuff can fit in there handily enough. Even the factions cam be translated without major overhauls.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

There are Tiefling and Dragonborn NPCs all the time in the Campaign books? Some people loudly complained about that with Saltmarsh, for example, but it goes all the way back to Hoard of the Dragon Queen.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Just to go back to this bit. When James Wyatt got the opportunity to actually make Ravnica into a Magic book, the Magic worldbuilding team had made a very popular and exciting high con episode Setting with some interesting details. But they did not consider the sorts of worldbuilding questions...

It is interesting how they interact, but always mechani s are at the service of a story, the Setting is what inform the use of mechanics, even in the oddball case of Eberron's conception.

Without lookomg at the book, the top dude in the Yeomanry is a Goliath, the Knight Commander in the Shieldlands is a Dragonborn, the chief personage in the Rovers of the Barons is a Tiefling, and each Species gets bamechecked in one region or another. It'll there, and anybody coming to the book...
