General Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access

Your feed back here will not be seen by Larian and has zero possibility of being taken on board and resulting in a change in the game. On Larian's forums or on the Steam discussion boards(If you bought the game through Steam) there is a very good chance of Larian becoming aware of your issues...

    Allegory VS Interpretation

As someone that spend 10 years caring for a dementia patient, the idea of putting leash on them, strikes me as appalling. Also, counter productive as it would most like make them distressed and violent, followed by distress on the part of the person on the other end of the leash as they receive...

5E What changes or retcons would you approve in a reboot?

I am not sure if D&D setting really need reboots in any real sense. Rebooting a setting makes sense where the consumers of setting are consumers of an increasing complex lore. At that time sales of new stories in the setting are being inhibited by the amount of back story needed to understand...

General Dragonlance's Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman Are Suing WotC for Breach of Contract

I accept that, that what you are saying is a possibility and very likely to be what WoTC will claim, if this goes to court. However, someone at Hasbro or WoTC looked at Dragonlance in general, and decided that Goldmoon is a whitewashed Native American or there was some other issue in...

    D&D doesn't need birds

Birds are particularly to bards, my brother took out a parrot with an electric guitar and a Marshal Stack.

General Dragonlance's Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman Are Suing WotC for Breach of Contract

I just want point out that all we know of this case is Weis & Hickman's deposition to the court and they claim to be willing to take editorial direction and make any and all re-writes necessary to get the books published but that WoTC is refusing to give such editorial direction, and WoTC are...

5E Jeremy Crawford Discusses Details on Custom Origins

Thanks for the response, I originally responded because I was confused by your previous post. i do agree that there has been a strong trend toward casual playstyles over the years. I see that as partly inevitable, there are so many competing time sinking hobbies. The same trend is observable in...

5E Jeremy Crawford Discusses Details on Custom Origins

I am not quite sure what you mean by this. If the rule is optional and not in the PHB then unless one is aware of the new rule or bought the supplement then one can continue as if this new rule does not exist. In fact one could be completely unaware of it. Even if one is aware of the new rules...

That is because they are not re-writing the PHB.

5E Jeremy Crawford Discusses Details on Custom Origins

Well speaking for myself, First off, I am not actually bothered one way or another about fixed or free floating stat bonuses but. Despite being involved in D&D for near 40 years and on ENWorld before 3.5 was a thing but after 3.0 was a thing, I do not have a lot of DM experience. Mostly because...

General Dragonlance's Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman Are Suing WotC for Breach of Contract

On this case, I disagree with your take. Weis and Hickman's case, as I understand it that WoTC breached their licence agreement by interfering in the relationships between Wei and Hickman and their publisher and acted in bad faith by refusing to specify what changes would make the books...

General "Hot" take: Aesthetically-pleasing rules are highly overvalued

I think that the natural language approach was also informed by "giving the DM Authority" Ultimately the DM is going to have issue rulings in any case even where keywords and careful definitions are used. There used to be a very strong push to the notion that the Rules as Written was the...

General Dragonlance's Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman Are Suing WotC for Breach of Contract

I agree it is just a lawsuit and I really expect it to be settled out of court. I watched the Hoeg Law video analysis of the suit I referenced up thread and it appears that the change of editors kicks off the friction but I suspect that some high up the food chain decided at some point to simply...

5E How Wotc can improve the adventure books.

A couple of questions then if you please. Do you run at the table with a tablet? and can you customise the encounters in DnD Beyond? Add in your own elements or that type of stuff?

5E How Wotc can improve the adventure books.

So, I have been following this thread and Rime of the Frost maiden one and wondering about what all of the fuss was about. I have just run Princes.. then I realised that I have run using FantasyGrounds where all the story elements are hyperlinked and the same with the maps. So, as a matter of...

5E Which Virtual Table Top are you using right now and what do you like best about it?

@DaveDash In answer to you questions 1) it is easy to connect with the FG Unity version, Classic can cause issues. 2) I am not completely sure what you mean. If my interpretation is correct, then no. There is a lag from when WoTC releases a new module and FG creates the FG version. 3) as you...

5E Which Virtual Table Top are you using right now and what do you like best about it?

Switched to FantasyFrounds from ROll20 when FG got official WoTC support. Really like the combat tracker and other automation. It took a bit of getting used to it though. I would not switch away from it now.
