    Digital Maps for Roll20

You sir are feeding my crippling cartography addiction. And you are doing the Lord's work.

    5E Wendy’s sponsoring Critical Role?

This is the most bizarre marketing since the old spice D&D "Gentleman" Class

1E How did you deal with Command: "Blaspheme!"?

LOL wow that's a spell I had never heard of before. I do want to play something that declares someone excommunicate. Preferably John Wick

Paladin oath. What constitutes willingly breaking your oath/code?

Paladin's oaths and Lawful Good. Always so much fun. I don't think there is a single other class that consistently shows the desire to set out and do the right thing. And then immediately smashes that desire up against reality. Questions like this never seem to go away. I am quite...

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

That is a fair point, and is the reason for this thread in the first place. I fear that the intensity of the accusation against potential offenders is having an undesired effect. I myself love to write as well, and there is a lot of work that you have to do and balance. Adding onto that the...

Unpopular Opinion: People Shouldn't Review Adventures They Haven't Run

People looking at your article 5 years from now doesn't help them grow their channel today. I totally want those in-depth reviews. It is hard to figure out what module is actually good. How was Saltwater Marsh? Who knows? Reading the module seems like the only thing anyone has time for.

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

I can see what you mean by that. But like you said its a point of substantive negative feedback. Like you mention sometimes those voices are ignored, but the opposite can also be true. And a few voices can be amplified (especially with the internet o_O). How can an individual know the truth...

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

I see what you mean, but how can anyone tell those apart? Like in the example, no one gave the Japanese approval to get interested in animation. And America didn't get approval to like anime. I suppose it could be said that its an exchange as neither of them complained about the other liking...

Unpopular Opinion: People Shouldn't Review Adventures They Haven't Run

Previews not reviews are a really good idea. Unfortunately I think anyone out there reviewing these things are mostly at the mercy of the search algorithms. And if they want to stay relevant they must talk about a module while it is still "hot". And I am betting the word review is more search...

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

I know this is a bit of a hot thread but I thought I would offer a different perspective on it. I once heard someone say that historically cultural appropriation is the first step toward peace between two different groups. They were saying that when two different groups met they would almost...

Ya know that's a really interesting question. Never really considered that.

    Turgenev's Friday Freebie Maps

That is really generous. I am a hard core lover of all things maps for D&D.

    Consequences of Failure

I think the idea of failure seems to have gotten broken apart into two different areas combat and story. In combat success or failure is determined by rules and the roll of the dice. i.e. hit or miss, save or not. The success or failure is clearly defined and combat moves forward. In story...

The Dueling Essays of Arneson & Gygax

This seems really a common problem when you look back at something that blew up to become big today. It was slapdash ideas and something came out of it. No one was keeping track of this stuff and then years pass and memory gets fuzzy. Interesting read.

    LFG: Playtesting for Christmas

The PCs are there to help the Spirits reform Scrooge. Certain dark spirits are very invested in Scrooge remaining a miser. I figured I could go ahead and share our pic of Scrooge below.

    LFG: Playtesting for Christmas

Alright, how to put this? We are working on a D&D adventure themed around Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Going all out to make it as professional as possible so the adventure and maps are ready, but we are looking for some feedback, especially from experienced DMs. Would anyone...
