Hmmm... after reading through this thread I feel I must be the oddball. I don’t care how big the core book is - but I want the core of the rules to be fairly small and concise. The TinyD6 games are a good example of this. Tiny Dungeons is over 200 pages, but the “rules” are only around 80 pages...

If I run Discord in a web browser (instead of the client app), I actually use a different browser than what Roll20 is running in. This way, if something goes pear-shaped in one I can close and reopen the browser and not lose both sessions.

I’ve had the best luck with meetup.com (Which has usually involved starting up a new “Roleplaying Gamers In {your city here}” group, promoting it in groups for other nearby towns, and then waiting a few weeks.
No D&D here. Champions, Justice Inc (6th ed Hero System), and Savage Worlds. Thinking about starting up another game, and a D&D retro-clone is under consideration, or maybe Fate - depends on which the group chooses.
I’m in a fuzzy grey area here. I don’t think I’ve ever used that actual phrase, but I’ll flip the question around. I will not accept “it’s what my character would do” as an excuse for being a jerk or deliberately disrupting a game.
