How big are the biggest cities in your campaign world?

In the Late Middle Ages, London was decent. There were dozens upon dozens of cities larger. When Rome dominated Europe, there were still many cities over 50k, though none matched Rome at its peak in the Bronze Age https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_urban_community_sizes

Playtest (A5E) Level Up Advanced 5E Playtest Document #9: Warlord

The hints we've seen for Followers and Strongholds excite me. They both seem much more 5e than the Colville attempts.

D&D General why do we have halflings and gnomes?

If you didn't identify with a character or groups of characters that's not an indictment on representation or your own identity. That's an indictment on the characters and character groups to which you've been exposed.

D&D General why do we have halflings and gnomes?

With all the discussion about accessibility and representation these days I want to bring up how I came to understand why representation matters. During my 1e/2e playing days I was at most a 4'6 under 100 pound kid who was always the smallest kid in school, to include places where I was three+...

Blog (A5E) Level Up’s Monsters: Ecology

You see, I'm commenting on a post about an upcoming monsters book for D&D. While I am completely capable of doing the creation on my own, for my table and the 12 people who read my blog, that isn't the same as having canon naming as part of the book. Listing them in the book also means that I...

D&D 5E Does the Artificer Suck?

It seems that your only measure of suck is DPR, which is fine, for a specific type of gamer. But that will always result in certain build types being judged as awful. The Artificer can do lots of support in combat, are immeasurably valuable in exploration (a steel defender & homunculus...

D&D General D&D TV Show By John Wick Creator

With the proliferation of bigger budget, effects centered shows, there's no reason for anyone to suggest "human-ish only." Modern TV, even low budget stuff like SyFy and Shudder and even MTV, has demonstrated that fantasy can be fun, engaging, and embrace the worlds that have been built over...
