Pathfinder 2E Tell me about PF2E for Sandboxing

I run hexloration campaigns in PF2E per GMG rules pretty consistently, but what I do with the encounter tables is create slightly more elaborate ones that are based on party level. So a chart for CL 0-2, CL 3-4, CL 5-6, CL 7-8, CL 9-10 etc. Then, when I check which chart to roll on for the...

Pathfinder 2E How fast are your combats in online play?

My group on Wednesday nights plays 4 hour sessions on Roll20, with a typical session having 2-5 encounters (some of which end up in fights), and on the combat heavy nights we average about 30-45 minutes per combat. I tend to favor tougher encounters when they do happen. This is consistent across...

Pathfinder 2E What's the deal with 3rd party PF2E Adventure "support"??

The amount of 3PP support I have, in print, on my game shelves right now for Pathfinder 2E is more than I did after the first three years of D&D 5E, so it seems ahead to me. I'm more interested in the fact that so many PF1E 3PPs continue to come out, and that not as many of those publishers...

Pathfinder 2E Taking20 -"I'm Quitting Pathfinder 2e Because of This Issue"

I can certify from personal experience that I can still make interesting but suboptimal characters in Pathfinder 2E. Anyway, on that video, I was primarily amused that he used exactly, almost verbatim, the same complaint I made about PF1E, and then took a classic edition war tactic re...

Pathfinder 2E Taking20 -"I'm Quitting Pathfinder 2e Because of This Issue"

Some of us might be on a written forum specifically because we can't access videos right now....

Pathfinder 2E Regarding the complexity of Pathfinder 2

I love PF2E. Here's my reasons: 1. As GM I find that the encounter balance mechanics are very fine tuned and work exceedingly well. So well that you can build encounter design for effect and rarely ever be disappointed in the result. 2. PF2E characters are tougher, but not too much tougher than...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder 1.5 rumblings: Corefinder

I gotta be honest, everytime I read a thread and get interested in thinking about a return to PF1E or D&D 3.5, then a discussion on the finer points of (to use this example) kneeling vs. prone or something grapple related pops up, and a cold chill grips my heart and I realize I'm just fine with...

Savage Pathfinder Pathfinder Adventure Paths Are Coming To Savage Worlds!

Some games just don't require a lot of infrastructure to enjoy....in fact with CoC I have used only the free quickstart as the underlying compendium, because all I actually need is my print copy of the Keeper's Guide to run games on Roll20. But when I started with Roll20 I went in with PF2E...

Savage Pathfinder Pathfinder Adventure Paths Are Coming To Savage Worlds!

Actually you make a really compelling point...with VTT becoming more normative in the wake of the pandemic, games will survive for which support and interest can be found in the VTT realm. In my own example, I've gone whole-heartedly into the Roll20 economy, which means that in terms of "games I...

Savage Pathfinder Pathfinder Adventure Paths Are Coming To Savage Worlds!

I quite miss sitting at the table and gaming face to face, but my PF2E game converted pretty easily to Roll20 back in April and we all adjusted well enough --enough so that the comments here about Roll20 being poorly optimized for PF2E make me wonder how much better other VTT setups are....I've...

Savage Pathfinder Pathfinder Adventure Paths Are Coming To Savage Worlds!

This mirrors my experience. I don't know anyone in my town locally that still plays PF1E, everyone has migrated to 5E or PF2E (that said, 5E still dominates).

Savage Pathfinder Pathfinder Adventure Paths Are Coming To Savage Worlds!

Time will tell. I recall that 3PP were very slow to adopt 5E for its first two years, took a while (and WotC's dmsguild.com) before we started to see that turn around. 3rd edition/PF1 have had a lock on the 3PP mindset for two decades now.

Savage Pathfinder Pathfinder Adventure Paths Are Coming To Savage Worlds!

I'd be interested in sources on this. I mean....it could make sense (I feel PF2E worked well to bring back lapsed players like myself, but I don't know if it convinced players who never got tired of 1E to switch).

As a fan of Pathfinder and Savage Worlds this feels like a peanut butter and chocolate moment.

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E Errata 2E

But that makes no sense...PF2E IS the errata for 1E. Took 600+ pages to fix it! ;)

Thirsty Sword Lesbians: An Interview With April Kit Walsh (Evil Hat Productions)

No that's not what I meant (my intent was "exclude myself" not someone else excluding me, I think this is a great and inclusive game); my comment was aimed at other posters who said this sounds like a game for which they are "not the target audience." My point is....don't sell yourself short...

Thirsty Sword Lesbians: An Interview With April Kit Walsh (Evil Hat Productions)

In defense of straight males in gaming I think this game sounds entertaining and not sure why I'd be excluded exclude myself from playing it....it sounds like an entertaining RP challenge!
