The Horror! of Introducing New Players

My favorite aspect of teaching newbies, on a VTT format in any case, is how all the players are just so intrigued by every little thing. They love moving their tokens all over the place and all at the same time. "Classroom Management" becomes a definite skill as you try to contain their...

    D&D 5E 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

If We the People don't finally get our official "Greyhawk" source book, I am going to revolt. ;)

Meet the Daughter of Hideous Laughter

Sounds like you all might be putting the chicken before the egg. Iggwilv's backstory included her earliest persona as "Tasha," one of the adopted daughters of Baba Yaga. Her motives, methods and reason for the ultimate name change are known by her alone. But she did begin as "Natasha" and...

Meet the Daughter of Hideous Laughter

I remember first hearing her name reading "The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth". The concept that the folk of Perrenland would use the name of Iggwilv to frighten children to behave themselves immediately caught my attention. I thought 'Now THIS is a cool BBEG.'

D&D 5E The Gaming Gang Pages Through Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

If you are familiar with John Carpenter's "The Thing" this adventure is heavily influenced on that. Much of this of course will also depend on how the DM runs the game. If the "Player Character Secrets' are handled correctly, it would be very interesting. Not knowing who you can really trust...

D&D 5E The Gaming Gang Pages Through Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

Personally, the maps are "nice" but not great. At $50 a book, I think I would prefer to have maybe LESS art work and more detailed maps that I could use on VTT games (which is all I play these days).

    D&D 5E D&D Celebration Schedule Announced

I find myself having a hard time getting my head around making all the D&D races the same. In the real world, I understand the truth that we are all human beings and are all equal with varying talents and abilities. In a D&D setting, however, I always saw it as being purposefully DETACHED from...

D&D 5E Icewind Dale Preview: The Panopticon

OK so I was chatting with some players on Roll20 about this next campaign. We were all talking about the rumors and whispers that have come out so far. One of the players suddenly had a brilliant thought! She mentioned what if Icewind Dale becomes isolated from the rest of the world as...

    ICv2's Top 5 RPGs for Spring 2020 - D&D 3PPs In The Chart!

I really loved "The Lost City." Such a fun adventure. I only wish there were a decent set of full color detailed maps to go along with it.

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Previews Include a Scroll of Tarrasque Summoning

I found a few other little tidbits too. Evidently the chwingas from Chult have a cold variety that might be appearing in RotFM. There is also a more "icicle" like avatar for Auril .

D&D General Critical Role Investigation Into Complaint

What has happened to the "innocent game" I used to love and cherish as a boy? People have all gone plum loco! Bottom line: you see something you don't like or perhaps don't agree with? Fine. But don't be an asshole. "Asshole" definition: stalk your perceived offending parties and harass...

I need for "Mythic Odysseys of Theros" updates and I need them NOW! ;)

OD&D DMs Guild Treasures: 5 BECMI Modules That Deserve the Big Book Treatment

Simply for the sake of nostalgia I am 100% for this. There are so many adventures from the early days that the "modern player" knows little or nothing about. With the slower release of adventures from WotC these days, it would only be a matter of time before all the "current" material has been...

Unearthed Arcana WotC Removes Latest Unearthed Arcana

There is also evil in real life. People do evil things in real life. By getting rid of all evil alignments and evil monsters in D&D, would that fix the problem? Does D&D have that kind of power? Is D&D the prime teaching tool for all social norms?

Unearthed Arcana WotC Removes Latest Unearthed Arcana

So is demon and devil worship.

Unearthed Arcana WotC Removes Latest Unearthed Arcana

Well if you go that route, I have a issue with the number of players who like playing "evil" characters or murder hobos. I take deep offense to that and it makes me worried about how our society is progressing. Should we remove that as an option? What about tieflings? Warlocks with the Fiend...

Unearthed Arcana WotC Removes Latest Unearthed Arcana

Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. I simply do not understand as this to me is such a non-issue. This is just a game. I should hope people took it as such. Grant it, I think "Love" is kind of a odd choice for a domain name. Especially when "Charm" would likely fit better. But...

Critical Role Here's The Cover Of The Explorer's Guide to Wildemount; Plus It's #15 In Amazon Bestsellers!

Have to say I am completely surprised by this. I love Critical Role and the whole team that works on it but not so much into playing it. I wish them the best of luck!

D&D General Hilarious typos in D&D books

The typo is "an two-wheeled" where it should read "a two-wheeled". And there is nothing hilarious about that. I'm calling the grammar police! It's an outrage I tell ya
