D&D 5E Unearthed Arcana: Gothic Lineages & New Race/Culture Distinction

I see a lot of us are thinking Ravenloft, though it's pretty well represented in this edition so far, and recently. Maybe a Van Richten's Guide to [Synonym for Supernatural]? I think I might side with those thinking these are for Innistrad--do these archetypes fit the lore of that world at all...

D&D 5E Official Candlekeep Mysteries Announcement & Info About 'The Canopic Being' Adventure

I thought maybe you were putting your characters into a Pina Bausch modern dance number.

D&D 5E Official Candlekeep Mysteries Announcement & Info About 'The Canopic Being' Adventure

Yeah, I'm fine with it if it makes sense for story reasons (rather than, I don't know, Acererak making his tomb as accessible as possible to kill the optimum amount of adventurers... actually, that would make sense for him, never mind). I don't get the hate, either, but I'll give them credit for...

News Digest for the Week of January 1

Surprised and saddened to hear about Jackie Cassada--my shelves have tons of her Changeling/White Wolf work on them, and the Cup of Dreams POD has been on my to-read pile for months now. Off to the (sadly necessary) GFM page now.

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2021

Last year I just went through my backed Kickstarters and nominated those (including future ENnie darling Thousand-Year-Old Vampire), but most of the ones I would have put forward, including Urban Shadows 2e and Deviant: The Renegades, have already been nominated, so I'll just throw out a couple...

WotC Drizzt Do'Urden Action Figure Available for Pre-Order

Only his friends call him "Drizzy." Quibbles about the sculpt aside, I'll probably go for this figure just for pure novelty value. I passed on those KRE-O toys when they were on clearance forever, but I think I'll pick this up.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Heckna!, Creatures, Skullkickers, and more

I'll plug Troll Lord Games, who are doing a quickie IndieGoGo campaign for Of the Horned God's Winter, an adventure collection for Castles & Crusades. 70 (or so) pages, $6 PDF, $10 print, $15 for both. Ends September 29.

An Official Hellboy RPG Is Coming!

I'll slide in before all the 5E complaints start to say that Hellboy is a natural fit for an RPG, with tons of great characters and lore to choose from. The franchise is probably not at its peak anymore, with the last movie bombing and HB himself , but it's a very rich and compelling universe.

D&D 5E Midnight: Legacy of Darkness announced at GenCon Online

It looks like at least the first Midnight Chronicles is free to stream for Amazon Prime members in the U.S. It... does not look promising.
