EN Publishing EN5ider Desert in the Road negative review

Because my Zeitgeist campaign consumes most of my D&D-related hours & brainpower. I need ready-to-play content for this co-DM game, and I was hoping EN would be more reliable than DM's Guild.

EN Publishing EN5ider Desert in the Road negative review

Mini adventures are supposed to be: self-contained side quests, structured to fill one or two game sessions, playable without much prep. Desert on the Road does not accomplish any of those things. * The cryptic note in the first scene is a mcguffin. No one the PCs meet, and nothing else the...

D&D 5E [Guide] How to Win Fights and Intimidate People (Another Barbarian Primer)

    Here's what I'd do to fix The Barbarian Level Features Rages Rage Dmg 1st Rage, Unarmored Defense 2 +2 2nd Reckless Attack, Danger Sense 2 +2 3rd Primal Path 3 +2 4th Ability Score Improvement 3 +2 5th Extra Attack, Fast Movement 3 +2 6th Path feature 4 +2 7th Feral Instinct 4...

D&D 5E [Guide] How to Win Fights and Intimidate People (Another Barbarian Primer)

One of my campaigns is finally in Tier 4, and I'm seeing that Barbarians don't scale nearly enough. I'll revise my ratings soon, and add the new Paths from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

D&D 5E Tasha: Barbarian Path of Wild Magic should SCALE

Barbarians, like Rangers, start pretty strong and then flatten out in the early teen levels. The simplest way to compensate for this is for Path features to become progressively stronger at higher levels. Unfortunately, most paths don't do this enough, and Wild Magic is sadly no exception...

D&D 5E Half ASI feat for 19th level open hand monk?

Thanks for the good ideas. Hex could be amazing in the right circumstances, but so could the others... For example, Skill Expert would make one skill (probably Perception) almost unbeatable (and also add another, maybe Investigation). Hmm...

D&D 5E Half ASI feat for 19th level open hand monk?

Straightforward epic tier wood elf open hand monk. Out of combat parkour scout, in combat invisible skirmisher. Only ASIs so far, no feats. Due to optional retraining, any feat that grants +1 to Dex, Con, or Wis will work equivalently well. Elven Accuracy was the obvious choice, but Tasha offers...

ZEITGEIST Crystal Spheres of the Gyre (further adventures in overdoing images)

I'm using them as the VTT map foreground for Chapter 12. I also added some easter eggs if they explore the far corners. Bral, the Crossroads of Space: Sol, the Harsh Light of Reality: Sto-Oa, the Guardian Light: Zendikar, the Prison of Titans:

ZEITGEIST Crystal Spheres of the Gyre (further adventures in overdoing images)

Part 2: The Northern Gyre Ascetia, the Hidden Jungle: Elofasp, the Spawning Hive: Obliatas, the Devouring Light: Egalitrix, Fortress of the Golden Legion: Iratha Ket, the Graveyard Revel: Apo, the Unknown Disk: Gardboral, the Chimeric Maelstrom: Ringes, the Barren Moor: Bonalithe, the...

ZEITGEIST Crystal Spheres of the Gyre (further adventures in overdoing images)

Part 1: The Southern Gyre (minus the original planes, for which I used the images from the adventure) Payder, a Clean Realm: Baifan, the Plain of Rice: Caeloon, the Paper Wind: Shabboath, the Severed Sea: Bhoior, the Walking Whisper: Amrou, the Salt Waste: Wilanir, the Lair of...

ZEITGEIST Crystal Spheres of the Gyre (further adventures in overdoing images)

The really interesting maps made by Arkwright inspired me to convert them into planar orbs. Thrag, the Beastly Bounty Metairie, the Swamp of Sabotage Guay, the Grove of Dreams Then I ventured off into the weeds, as you'll see in the following two posts. Hmm... maybe I should redo these...

Hitting a creative road block with my homebrew cosmology. Domains.

(Updated) I hope the following is more creative than destructive for you: Life - Spirit, imposing shape & intent on the elements, without which there would be no purpose. CREATION Space - The Elements, raw stuff of creation, uncontrolled, without which there would be nothing. ORDER The...

D&D 5E [Guide] How to Win Fights and Intimidate People (Another Barbarian Primer)

Not better, but fighters can make use of feat combos a lot earlier. A point-buy Var Human barbarian reaches 20 Str plus two feats at 12th level, vs 8th level for a fighter. Given that most campaigns end around 10th-14th level, that's an important difference.

ZEITGEIST 4th Tier battles are over the top (continued)

An archmage of the Unseen Court uses upcasted Reverse Gravity to leave She Who Writhes stranded 100 feet in the air. The King of Risur matches the fey titan's size with the Rites of Rulership and pushes RNS Gallant away from the gravity zone.

D&D 5E Trickery Cleric gaining Proficiencies

IMO, rogue weapons or finesse weapons are more appropriate for Trickery domain. Good idea about the damage type. Psychic is both more appropriate and more effective than poison.

    D&D 5E Poll - Unfavorite Epic Boons

True, flavor (or lack thereof) is a valid consideration for build options. IMO things like dimensional travel are even worse than the pluses, because the ability is both common (multiple subraces and classes already do that) and weak.

    D&D 5E Favorite Epic Boons

Necro: I just posted a "5 least-favorite Epic Boons" poll as a book-end to this one.

    D&D 5E Poll - Unfavorite Epic Boons

The obvious (IMO) followup to this poll never happened, so now here it is. "While only a microscopic fraction of players are believed to be playing on post-20th level games, the chances are that (as long as you actually grabbed that DMG) you should have seen the epic boon list on page 232 of...
