Pathfinder 1E What Made You Switch To Pathfinder?

WotC decided that there would be no translation of D&D 5. Thus, our group use Pathfinder, as support for 3.5 has ended a long time ago.

D&D 5E WotC will not allow translation of D&D NEXT.

Yup. If you target grown-up geeks, sure, an english only version of D&D may be enough. May be : in my gaming groups, even if all of us read english, we play pathfinder or Ars Magica because the majority is more cumfortable with a french ruleset than with english ones. But what about kids ? The...

D&D 5E WotC will not allow translation of D&D NEXT.

So, has WOTC decided that dirty fureiners don't need no D&D ? I haven't read the slightest bit of news about a translation in any language, except maybe Planescape cant. Did I miss something ?

    Previewing Pathfinder's Occultist

I like how Paizo has been unable to make "psionic" with a more "fantazy" feel rather than "sci-fi" flavour.

    D&D 5E Treantmonk's Guide to Wizards 5e

After reading the guide, I have two distinct impressions : - that 5e need a tome of magic, because of lack of spells. I mean, some schools have zero spells at some levels. - that there is so much "old edition relics" combined with the new concentration rules inside the spells that balance is...

    PATHFINDER UNCHAINED: Magic Items

It seems absolutely unrelated. Magic items are not the "core" of D&D5.

    D&D 5E The 5E Art is Awesome

The Romans were in Britain BEFORE the Angles and the Saxons. So, you either incorporate Roman elements, or you keep to purely celtic/arthurian culture*. Or you go back to the germanic myths. But a reconstruction anglo-centric mythology without roman elements ? * and, IIRC, even then both Scots...

    D&D 5E The 5E Art is Awesome

To each his own... I don't like it at all, it looks like a bunch of larpers posing next to a latex dragon... Note that I don't dislike LARP, by the way. But D&D needs to be more epic than something you can do with foam and paint... Dragons are not wildboars, they should not be depicted as such.

    PATHFINDER UNCHAINED: Magic Items

scaling magic item is the way to go IMHO, if one does not want his campaign to looks like a videogame where players sell tons of "obsolete" magic items to buy new ones. That, and the possibility of giving powerful, important items to first level characters.

Pathfinder 1E Wondering which are the best Paizo APs?

I understand your point of view... However, I wonder if some kind of sliders could be done. Sandboxy<------------------>Railroady (should find a non derogatory term... Linear ?) Epic <----------------------->Gritty Bash'n Slash <------------->social interaction/plot heavy Of course, that's...

Pathfinder 1E Wondering which are the best Paizo APs?

That's the problem with this kind of list. Everyone does not have the same tastes. I see Age Of Worms at 84.5% while kingmaker is trending at 70.5%... It tells a lot about what the audience like, not about the merits of such or such specific AP. That, and the date of first publication...

    Potion of darkvision. For real.

That's not very different from what people wearing contact lens are doing every day. It's not a syringe you plunge into your eyeball.

    Potion of darkvision. For real.

http://mic.com/articles/113740/a-team-of-biohackers-has-figured-out-how-to-inject-your-eyeballs-with-night-vision That's 150 feet. The D&D 60ft darkvision is obviously nerfed. And it last for several hours, so duration should be "alchemist level/minutes". Added benefit : it has visual...

D&D 5E Video Game Worlds You Wish Were D&D 5E Settings

Baldur's gate ! Wait, what ? :D More seriously, there could be some use of the Ultima games, even if they are pretty much vanilla fantasy.

D&D 5E Classes you're hoping WotC will create

I want a healer. Think white mage or something like that. Unarmored, nearly non-combatant, lots of spells related to healing, nature, divination. Not a D&D druid, because druid are combat oriented classes. "But that would be an NPC class ?". Maybe. It's a powerful archtype however, and I could...

D&D 5E The Arctic Campaign and 5th edition

Another possibility : the cold weather maybe the enemy, or at least its manifestation. There may be a not quite dead evil god sleeping inside the ice, whose malevolence is oozing though the bitter cold. "winter is coming", they say, or something like that. With each player's victory, the...

Pathfinder 1E Borken World - Play Pathfinder in French !

You don't use "le" in single-word sentences, except if you are an English or American of course. It's a syntaxic faux-pas, but it's so frequent that it gives a feeling of déja-vue. At least, "soupir" is a masculine name. If you had said "La Sigh", it would have been a coup-de-grâce. :D

Pathfinder 1E Borken World - Play Pathfinder in French !

It's not a first... We have already had games like Nightprowler, COPS (which is an acronym fo "Central Organization for Public Security"), Prophecy, Bloodlust or Dark Earth and so on. As for this campaign setting, it looks interesting, but I don't have the time to read it. edit : it seems...

Pathfinder 1E Aqueous Orb : what happens when the orb is full ?

Suppose you are fighting a goblin army. What happens when your rolling waterball (Aqueous Orb, a third level spell) is filled up with 16 goblins, and you are still moving it over ennemies ? 1) Targets are damaged if they fail their save, but they can't be picked up by the orb. 2) Targets are...
