[Øone Games] Announcing The Great City Campaing Setting

0one Games are pleased to announce The Great City Campaign Setting and a brand new line of products called “Urban Adventures”

The Great City Campaign Setting is due at the beginning of September a will be a 3.5 compatible sourcebook penned by talented writers, richly mapped and illustrated.

The book will be readily followed by an adventure, a map folio and, by the end of the year, by a great campaign arc in six breathtaking adventures, which will bring your player characters through each Ward of the Great City.

Sounds promising. I enjoy city based products and adventures.

Any reason why it went with d20 instead of statless like Freeport? I enjoy the old Freeport book and it works pretty well statless but do own the d20 companions.

Page count/price?

Well, I prefer a book to be immediately usable with at least a rule system. That said, the campaign setting has been layed out to be easily used with any game system, since all the d20 stats are grouped at the end of the book.

The Great City Campaign Setting is at the layout stage now and should be 170+ pages. Final price has'nt been decided yet.

If the stats are at the end..

If the stats are all at the end I'd release it as a concurrent "D20 Pack" and have the book itself be systemless. You can make all the refs and page links you want but if you never published the core as a d20 product you're free to do 4e if you want.

I love your stuff and want every success for you guys. I think most players would be fine with two pdfs. If you make an intro that talks about how they can have the game system pdf open at the same time as the world book - they might even appreciate it.

I'm afraid this would not work with the "per line" policy of the GSL.

As for 4th edition products we are waiting for some clarifications about the product interactivity, since 0one Games' products take great advantage from the PDF technology but unfortunately it may be in contrast with section 5.5 of the GSL.

Anyway we are creating great products supporting 4th edition, believe me. :)

That's great, I love city books.

I already have some of the ward PDFs, but never got around to doing much with them. Is the layout of the city going to change?

While the layout of the city remains the same, the map itself has been totally redrawn with very small adjustments to fit the story (and it looks awesome!).

The writers did a great job keeping in mind the actual maps and what has been said in the Blueprints Backdrops products, so these products will remain 100% compatible with the new books.
