1st level Eberron Adventure?

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good (published) adventure out there to run some 1st level characters through that's set in, or can be easily adapted to Eberron? Our group's really into Eberron right now and we're having a blast with the railroad-intro series, before heading off into unknown waters, but the other DM, who's running that campaign, is out this week and maybe next week due to a sick baby, so I'm stepping in with, hopefully, a fun time filler. I want to use different characters than that one, and I don't want to use the same series he is, but I do kind of want to stick with the Eberron theme. Any advice you folks could give would be tremendous help as game is about to start in about 16 hrs. I'm a Dungeon subscriber, so those would be great given the time crunch. Thanks for the help guys! I know I can count on the Enworld community!!

The Whispering Cairn (Dungeon Magazine 124) can be easily adapted to Eberron, as a matter of fact there is a downloadable PDF at the Paizo.com site with the "conversion" notes. That is a pretty fun adventure, lots of roleplaying possible and lots of plot hooks.

It is also the first adventure in the Age of Worms adventure path so you won't be running out of adventure ideas for a long while.

Have you already dealt with the adventure presented in the back of the Campaign Setting book?

Yep, that's the first one of the series continued in shadows of the last war/whisper of the vampires blade/in the grasp of the emerald claw

I'll look at that. While I'm looking that up, know something I could tie into Sharn? I want to start it there - easier to arrange the characters meetings in a cosmopolitan city like that than elsewhere.

It does look really good and I may use it, but I'm a little concerned running this - I don't want to set up long term hooks in a one-off... do I need to be concerned with that here? Is it a campaign starting point or something more episodic where it can be extended but doesn't have to be?

In the Belly of the Beast by Atlas Games is pretty good. It's set in a city with the main NPC the leader of a merchant house. Should be easy to adapt, just change the name of the House and fill in a couple of other details. It's available from RPG Now and I'd say we got more than $5 worth of fun out of it. :)

Edit: It says "2nd to 4th level characters" but my DM used it as the first adventure of a campaign. Not sure what, if anything, he changed.

It isn't published but for my first Eberron adventure (set in Sharn), I started with my favorite two words: Roll Initiative!

I had the PC's involved in a a barroom brawl between some Halflings and Goblins. Things started with simple fisticuffs but took an ugly turn when the Goblins began to coup de grace some of the unconscious Halflings. Shortly thereafter the Goblins fled and in came the Sharn City Watch.

Sgt. Dolom (I used the same NPC from the Forgotten Forge adventure in the back of the book) questioned the PC's, got their names and where they were staying and then let them go. The next night he summoned them back to the same bar to tell them that they wanted to send a message to the Goblins that such activities were not acceptable. They wanted the PC's to deliver this "message" by way of busting into a Dreamlilly Den in Lower Dura and "busting some heads".

The trick was that this wasn't Sgt. Dolom at all. It was a Changeling Rogue hired by the Boromar Clan to get the PC's to do their bidding vs. Daask. The other highlight of the adventure was that during the fight in the Dreamlilly Den, the PC's made the gruesome discovery that one of the combatants was actually a Roach Thrall.

That would make a nice, short, self contained adventure set in Sharn and showing off some of its unique features. And if you get a chance to run a follow up adventure you can always have some more conflict with Daask.

NeMoren's Vault could be easily adapted to Eberron. Just rename the mansion to ir'Moren's Vault and set it along the border between Aundair and the Eldeen Reaches, or maybe along the Breland/Darguun border. Assembling the party is written into the adventure.
